Our apologies for that last photo above. It was before we started our ___________. (Fill in the blank).

Good morning! I forget what you called that. It's a newer upload, anyway.

Happy Halloween, everybody!! Watch out for the kiddies out there tonight!

Month ending sunset pictures

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 07:55 am:

I thought about the end of the month memorial, but 1999 didn't have that either!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 07:56 am:

Okay, so it WAS end of the month memorial?? So how come there was no sunrise or sunset in the 1999 picture? Just wanting to know if the memorial started in 1999, but the sunsets in 2000?

Our apologies for that last photo above. It was before we started our
morning cup of coffee. ;-)

Almost forgot to mention that the Dr. and I will get to see some of the aftermath of Sandy firsthand beginning Friday night into Saturday; we're on our way to Charlotte, NC and are traveling through the Smokeys into North Carolina. I have heard Gatlinburg, TN got about 20" of the white stuff so it should make for an interesting drive!!!

Wrong "day" in day in history, jumps ahead to tomorrow..

Wellllll, just because he said sorry for the last doesn't mean he wasn't sorry for the next to last also!

Happy All Hallow's Eve!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 08:06 am:

Good Morning, you all. Happy Halloween! It will be interesting to see how many trick or treaters with this crazy weather, cold & rain. I read in one of the Detroit papers that the Warren mayor is postponing Halloween to Friday night, with hopefully better weather then.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 09:00 am:

Capt...Time and weather permitting, you may want to take 441 through Gatlinburg and over the Smokies to Cherokee, NC. It is a very scenic drive...one of my favorites on the motorcycle. However, I emphasize...weather permitting, as it is a very twistie-turnie road.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 09:09 am:

It'll definitely be an interesting drive, Capt., snow or not! But beautiful scenery....that is if you can take your eyes off the road.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 11:22 am:

BTW, Capt., if you drive on the new 85mph tollway in Texas....watch out for wild hogs. News is that 4 accidents have happened on that road since the speed limit was raised....all caused by wild hogs crossing the road.:<

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 01:37 pm:

Capt Paul, umm, I hope you have chains for your car if you take Alex's route. It is gorgeous in the summer, BUT... I am pretty sure that that is part of the area that just got 3 feet of snow, and I don't think they can handle it for a while!

By Richard J. (Dick_fl) on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 06:33 pm:

Hey Alex, the best route through is Tail of the Dragon (US129) http://www.tailofthedragon.com/

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 09:12 pm:

Richard...I have done the Tail of the Dragon...318 curves in 11 miles. Are you riding a crotch-rocket? :-)

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 09:20 pm:

....also rode the Cherohala Skyway...another magnificent rode in the same area.
