Thanks for the download info. I've been looking for a copy of this tune for years.

I didn't have a clue about the name of the flutist, but I had a vague memory of Charlie posting something about the music when Pasty Cam first started using it...something about it being in the public domain. Charlie, do you remember that post? I went looking back to see if I could find it and didn't have any luck.

On another note, it looks like the first What'sUP page was on November 7, 2004. Is that right? On that date, Charlie said he got a fill-up in Baraga for $1.90 a gallon. It's an interesting experience to go back through some of those pages to read what we were thinking about back then.

I love that Simon Wolfe composition, but have never heard of him before. I am a big fan of Zamfir....whom Doug guessed at first.
Thanks for the beautiful slide show, Charlie.

Donna, love your 2008 picture!!

I suppose by now it is no longer a "mystery school" but I have no idea where it is/was. It looks like the designer was the one that did Hancock's downtown school building. Hancock didn't have the fancy dormers.

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 - 02:17 pm:

Yes Richard, you're so right! This is the info from last year's discussion about the school:

Thanks to everyone who helped solve the mystery. We have verified it is the former Buhl Minnesota High School, built in 1910, expanded in the 40's and used today as KidsPeace Mesabi Academy. With thanks to Minnesota Historical Society, LakesnWoods Community Guide, and KidsPeace respectively
