By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Friday, October 5, 2012 - 02:27 pm:

These beautiful Fall pictures are so enjoying! Bob & I were going to take a drive to Northeast Iowa Sunday as the leaf coloring is peaking. Plans changed last night after an ambulance ride to the hospital for Bob. Having what we thought were classic heart attack symptoms were mimicked by pneumonia and a blood clot in his lungs. Several days in the hospital for him, but he's doing pretty good.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, October 5, 2012 - 03:31 pm:

Ouch Janie!!!! :-(
Tell Bobby to get well soon, otherwise he'll miss the best bike riding time of year.....

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Friday, October 5, 2012 - 03:53 pm:

Thanks Capt! Actually the Dr. believes that's how the blood clot formed, when he was on the motorcycle trip to Arkansas with my brothers. His legs too stationary from all the riding, the clot formed in the leg area and traveled to the lung. They were pretty excited to get there, should have stopped a few more times to flex the legs. Long plane rides can trigger this as well.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, October 5, 2012 - 04:15 pm:

That's what I was wondering if the long bike ride didn't trigger it. Tell Bob that he needs to stop and walk around even if it does slow them down a bit!! And yes, I make it a point to get up every 2-3 hours on those long overseas plane rides I frequently take these days.

Janie, glad your Bob didn't have a heart attack. Get well wishes and prayers offered up for him!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Friday, October 5, 2012 - 07:58 pm:

...and yes, because I sit all day, I will get up every 2 hours and do squats to get the blood flowing.
