This past week one day, my grandsons and I spent the afternoon carving the large pumpkins they had picked out of "Papa's" plentiful pumpkin patch this year. The boys are 10 and 5, so with pumpkin carving tools in hand, they decided they wanted to carve their chosen designs completely on their own and I have to say, they did a pretty nice job. Of course when the pumpkin designs were complete, we had to light them up and snap a couple pictures in the dark, to really show off their handiwork.

The bottom photo of "a boy and his dog", was carved by one of our regular Pasty Cam contributors, Frederic W. Koski. What a fantastic job creating Charlie Brown and Snoopy, as they sit and wait for the arrival of the "Great Pumpkin". It looks like Frederic's carving skills are right up there with his photography skills. Great job on both!

I so enjoyed the pictues of the handsome pumpkin carvers with their great work!!!!I always do the simple jack-o-lanterns....hmmm.maybe i will get artsy this year!

On this day before Halloween we watched the full moon set into Lake Superior from our bedroom window. It brought to mind an account we wrote many years and 3 dogs ago: Keweenaw Moon:

I didn't realise the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were such big pumpkin carvers, Alex....

the moon was bright 5-o clock this morning and there were rings of clouds that surrounded the moon and the bright sky. it was very unusal to me. it looked like rings around saturn. (if that makes any sense)

it has been very windy here.
