Brenda Leigh is giving us a timely reminder, that even though fall is coming to an end, there is still beauty to behold. We just have to adjust our focus and look to the forest floor, rather than up to the treetops. What with fancy mushrooms and colorful leaves scattered about, the fall adventures can stay alive just a little longer, if you take to the forest for a hike. Brenda actually snapped these shots on a rainy walk in the woods recently. Seems like the waterlogged surroundings, made the colors more vivid and rich. Thanks for taking us along, Brenda. It was nice to see what you saw, without the raindrops falling on our heads. :->

Very cool pictures, but when I first saw the mushroom tops, they grossed me out lol!

Nice job, Brenda!

Thanks for the nice walk in the woods! Relaxing and enjoyable!

You can almost smell that earthy, woodsey fragrance of the northwoods. Ahhh.

Scrumptious pics Brenda, but you should have included a photo of a steak on the grill to go along with the shrooms :-)

Thanks for the reminder, Brenda. We've had a lot of rain and wind
here in Toronto since we returned from our trip to the Blue Ridge
and Outer Banks. I think I'll go for a walk in High Park, our nearest
park, and appreciate the leaves on the ground.

Now this is strange, as soon as I saw the first couple of photos it was my thought that Brenda made these. She's the great adventurer! Weather doesn't stop that girl. ;) Thanks for the beauty, Brenda!

Even when the weather is dreary, so much beauty can be found.

Thank you for the lovely photos, Brenda! And Alex, I couldn't agree with you more - I could smell it cooking as I looked at the pictures.

Colorful.

Beautiful white tree fungus. As a Microbiologist I appreciate molds and mushrooms.

I don't think this is off subject since Brenda has photos of tree fungus, Therese, so I'm wondering since you are a Microbiologist, have you ever seen 'foxfire'? I know it's been seen in the south but not sure about the UP.
