Frederic W. Koski was out and about here UP North, doing what he does best... capturing the unusual for us all to enjoy. In case you haven't noticed yet, Frederic's first photo has a leaf that is floating in the air and looks like it could be a butterfly or the top of that tree in the distance. It blends in so well, with the rest of the photo, you almost don't notice it's there. Great capture!
Frederic's second shot is yet another example of what Autumn coming to an end, looks like here in the North Country. Still a little color, but definitely way past peak by now. Not the brilliant beauty of Fall in full swing, yet beautiful in a subdued sort of way.

Very scenic! I like the walkway heading out to the lake and the second photo is pure UP.

Absolutely awesome! A Fall butterfly!

The stark beauty of both photos is what makes the UP one of my favourite places on earth, and I've been almost everywhere, man!!! ;-)

Beautiful photos. I clicked on Frederic Koski's name to look at his albums, and WOW! Some fabulous pictures. He's got the view and technique I try to achieve but just can't.

Beautiful photos, thank you Frederic! Can you tell us where you shot these?
By Brenda Leigh (Brownmoose) on Monday, October 22, 2012 - 08:37 am:
Frederic your photos are incredibly beautiful. Fall offers such an impressive display of colors. Soon the earth will be blanketed in white.

Mary, before I read your description I thought the same thing about the 'butterfly'! Beautiful, Frederic! Brenda, bite your tongue.;) Yep, no doubt the 's' word is coming.

Shirley, perhaps I should have said I cannot wait to see Frederic's beautiful photos blanketed in white. I have already been snowed on twice this fall. Once in the Porcupine Mountains and then just last week over near the Soo.

Well, Brenda, it sounds like you need to stay home. lol

Thank you for the kind comments. The hazards and risk-taking of U.P. photography, that leaf nailed me square in the forehead a half second later, I'm OK tho ;) These were taken around the Big Bay area.

Great photos Frederick! The leaf in the first one reminds me of the feather floating around in the movie Forest Gump.

Fred, these are remarkable photographs. You have an eye for contrasts.

Beautiful. That first one is a good action shot.

Nice photos, Frederic. I especially love the leave that is floating through the air.
