Brenda Leigh has been out and about trekking the trails in the Soo area, in search of the fall colors and she found them just fine. Her walk in the woods and along Lake Superior's shores brought us these close-up looks at the beauty of fall colors. I think my very favorite, though, is her last shot with the single yellow/red leaf. Mother Nature has some amazing tricks up her sleeve when it comes to coloring the leaves. First she makes this one multi-colored, but that's not quite enough, she then adds a cut-out of a heart, just to show how much she loves coloring the U.P. this time of year.

Isn't it amazing how each year Mother Nature seems to have an endless supply of crayons just waiting to paint the north country with the most vibrant colours??? Excellent photos Brenda; thanks for making those of us who can't live there that much more homesick...... ;-)

Beautiful pictures, Brenda. And I'm with Cindy in wishing the colors of autumn lasted longer. My granddaughter and I took a drive yesterday and were pointing out all the beautiful trees. I love autumn!!

Very nice! I took a ride UP there this past weekend and saw the show firsthand, and what a show it was. Color wise, the leaves are just now starting to peek and the weather was fantastic. When the UP shines, it really shines and although it was a long trip, it was worth it :-)
