Happy Anniversary Tom! Tuesday will be Bob and mine, 36 years, He's on a week long motorcycle trek in the Ozarks with my brothers and I'm home. Hummm, what's wrong with this picture? Paybacks are pretty good though!

Thanks Shirley! That's Tia, she will be 30 in the spring. One of Michelle's retired show horses. A lot of purple & blue ribbons were won between those two.

Happy Birthday to my wife and daughter this
weekend.
I remember that 1948 air show at what is now
the Houghton County airport. One of my older brothers worked on that airport when the runways
were made or extended. I forget which.

Tom--If it was 1948 that was when the Houghton County airport was built. Done by Thornton Construction of Hancock. Some may not know that the Canadian Government kicked in on that job because it gave them a much needed emergency landind spot for their flights over the big lake.

I remember this day in 1948,too. I was 9 years old at the time and we lived in Paavola. Seemed like a loooong walk to a 9 year old. There were many old biplanes, and even some of the old 'flying boxcars', transports. Who knew that a few years later I would be working at O'Hare in Chicago, when they opened up. Remember Ozark Airlines?
