By Richard J. (Dick_fl) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 08:22 am:

Isel Royale N. P. and although it doesn't say so exactly the slide show hints at Keeweenaw National Historic Park.
Winner

By Richard J. (Dick_fl) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 08:25 am:

that should read Isle Royale

By Cindy, New Baltimore, MI (Cindy) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 08:26 am:

Isle Royale State Park and Porcupine Mt. Wilderness State Park.

By Cindy, New Baltimore, MI (Cindy) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 08:30 am:

I take my answer back. Porcupine Mt. is not a national park. Richard is correct, I think.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 09:12 am:

Charlie's being tricky this morning, as there is only one National Park in today's review, Isle Royale. The other two in the UP are not considered National Parks but rather "official units" of the National Park Service (Keweenaw National Historic Park and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore).

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 09:36 am:

Congratulations, Richard!!

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 09:46 am:

Nice review today.

By Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 09:57 am:

The official nps.gov website states there are "5 National Parks" in Michigan:

Isle Royale National Park
Keweenaw National Historical Park
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
River Raisin National Battlefield Park
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

two other 'non-park' units are mentioned:

Motor Cities National Heritage Area
North Country National Scenic Trail

The two with pictures in the review are Isle Royale and KNHP (Calumet photos). Unless I am missing something in another photo, Scott Falls is actually outside of the boundaries of Pictured Rocks.

Dunerat, thanks for being part of Deb and I support team! lol!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 10:38 am:

Thank you, Charlie, for that added info.

Good job, Richard!

I learned something new today....again.

Well, Labor Day means the end of summer. Got 5 full cord of split hard maple and ash. Love stacking that wood...puts you in your own little world.

Going to make some salsa out of the garden goodies. It'll go good with the Green Bay Packer games....!

Here's a true end to the great summer we have had:

Looking forward to fall and believe it or not....the snow!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 04:43 pm:

Snow?? Bite your tongue, Pinetreegirl. Just kidding, I love the change of seasons. We lived in a snowless area a couple of winters and it was boring! :[

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 07:26 pm:

Thanks for enlightening us on the National Parks question. That was interesting!
