By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 07:38 am:

1968...Hard to read.

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 07:38 am:

By DEAN SCHWARTZ SR. (Lulu) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 08:35 am:

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 08:49 am:

It's just the 1st of Sept., not ready to deal with 'snow rollers' yet! :<

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 10:42 am:

Good morning! That first picture definitely looks like a home for the raccoons.

Have a wonderful weekend. We're headed UP north to Duluth!

By Erica - Florida Keys (Erica) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 12:15 pm:

Shirley in ohio,I hope your granddaughter in Clearwater got thru
Isaac ok. Now, I hope,we have no more storms this season I look
forward to winter down here......no snow,no ice. But I miss
Michigan,snow and all.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 12:37 pm:

Thanks, Erica, she came through it fine.
I agree with you, after having lived in Calif. a couple of winters, it was hard to come back to winters in Ohio, but I do like the seasonal changes....sometimes.;)

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 12:39 pm:

Good for you Dean!

You got to see a great game! If THESE Tigers can
learn what THOSE Tigers (1968) knew, we'll be in the
playoffs for sure.

GO TIGERS!!!

Smiling...the old propped building I take personally. Me walking leaning on my cane...see that? Anyone know where it is? Would love to see it when I come up there in a couple weeks!

By miningandlogging (Pinetreegirl) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 04:37 pm:

Beautiful day today. Worried about the trees, they don't look good. The leaves are dropping before they are even turning.

Let's not forget what Labor Day is all about;

"Labor Day is annually held on the first Monday of September. It was originally organized to celebrate various labor associations' strengths of and contributions to the United States economy. It is largely a day of rest in modern times. Many people mark Labor Day as the end of the summer season and a last chance to make trips or hold outdoor events."

Sure isn't what it's supposed to be, is it?

Making stuffed peppers with almost everything out of our garden. I guess we're going green. :)

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 05:31 pm:

Let's also not forget that plagiarism is not only illegal, but also immoral and just plain dishonest pinetreegirl.....

By Daveofmohawk (Daveofmohawk) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 07:54 pm:

Well said pinetreegirl!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 08:51 pm:

Holy smokes!! Again?????????

By DEAN SCHWARTZ SR. (Lulu) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 08:52 pm:

AMEN, pinetreegirl.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 10:46 pm:

Got my first mosquito bite today…on my cranium, no less. I was scratching the side of my head all day long and people looked at me like I couldn't figure anything out.:-(

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Saturday, September 1, 2012 - 11:34 pm:

A real head scratcher, eh Alex?? ;-)

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Sunday, September 2, 2012 - 09:00 am:

I don't get your 'drift' in that first post, Capt., care to explain?

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Sunday, September 2, 2012 - 10:24 am:

It was Capt...and a tiny little bug, at that. I wonder if a new batch has hatched lately, because they are all over the place. I read that they were spraying for West Nile in TX...send a plane over my house :-)

By Dr. Nat (Drnat) on Sunday, September 2, 2012 - 12:34 pm:

To plagiarise, according to Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 10th edition, is "to steal and pass off the ideas or words of another as one's own: use without crediting the source." As best as I can tell, pinetreegirl's post is taken word for word from timeanddate.com. As an author and researcher, I realise how much time goes into studying and writing things. The information in the post is interesting, but credit should be given to whom it is due.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Sunday, September 2, 2012 - 02:05 pm:

Very good, Dr. Nat...and as an example:
In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is King.
(Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus)

:-)

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, September 2, 2012 - 09:34 pm:

Thanks for clarifying Dr. Nat.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, September 3, 2012 - 09:46 am:

pinetreegirl did put the quote in "quotation marks"....which is supposed to be indicative of quoting something/someone else.

Mary says: Actually, I added the quotation marks when I edited the post. They weren't there originally.
We have to be careful ourselves, of copyright infringement, so that's why we monitor posts and ask that you be sure to credit wording "borrowed" from somewhere else. We do the same with the photographs. We cannot use them without the permission of the photographer and without giving proper credit to them. That's all we're asking of the comments, too. Just please give proper credit to where you are copying them from, then it's not a problem. Thank you!

By miningandlogging (Pinetreegirl) on Monday, September 3, 2012 - 10:41 am:

Who knows what I did, Shirley. I can't seem to do anything right anymore.

Author; Pinetreegirl

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, September 3, 2012 - 09:06 pm:

Thank you for your reply, Mary. I didn't know that you added the quotation marks. I apologize.

Mary says: Not a problem, Shirley and you're welcome. :->
