The weather here in the Keweenaw has been quite a switch this past week. We've had rain and wind for the most part, which always stirs up good ole' Lake Superior into a frenzy. John Dodge was able to capture a bit of that Superior action in the form of some dandy waves and good splash action on the rocks. Just look at the color of that wave just set to come crashing onto the rocks in that first photo. Outstanding!

But then, just as quickly as the winds and rain stirred everything around, the sun comes out and brightens things up, just long enough to spread a beautiful rainbow across the skies. Amanda Cadwell was on hand at White City when this one appeared. Beautiful to say the least.

That's the Keweenaw for you... if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute, it'll change! ;->

Fiercesome! Not sure that's a word but it describes that big ol' Lake!;> That water looks terribly cold to me this morning, maybe because the temp hit freezing on my backporch thermometer! brr

With the wind & waves as wild as they are I pray that all of the boats are in safe harbor. I always worry about them in this type of weather.

the weekend, after the Heritage Manor fire, I took pictures of a rainbow that went completely over the apt. building. One picture, the dark clouds were above the rainbow and below the rainbow was all sunshine over the building. That is the one I blew up to an 8x10.

Great action of the waves, and the rainbow is nice, 2.
