Labor Day signals the end of summer here UP North and Peg Hardt brings us the photographic journey of the summer activities that are coming to a close, also.
The days are numbered for early morning fishing on the dock, narrowing them down to weekends as the days get cooler. Same goes for splashing and laughter in the lake, now that school begins again. Colorful towels drying on the deck or clothesline, won't be such a frequent sight and an evening fire will be more to take out the chill of the evening, rather than for making that delicious summer snack of S'mores.
Summer of 2012 now becomes a memory as we head into Fall. Don't worry, though, the beauty of the North Country is just changing seasons. Happy Labor Day!

A side note: We wanted to let everyone know that pasty shipments will resume next week. The uncertain weather situation prompted us to delay, which normally begins the day after Labor Day. So you can take the rest of the week off, and we'll soon have the pasty order form available for shipments starting in just 7 days!
Please identify the lake and location. Thanks.

Perfect shots for Labor Day weekend! The last chance to enjoy friends & family before things return to 'normal'. Seems these folks realize how blest they are to have each other and enjoy the time together!

Good Labor Day Morning! Make it a good one! Going to catch up around the farm today. Bob, Brimley, Brody & myself had a restful, wonderful ATVing weekend! Life is good!

Agreed; these are the perfect photos for the traditional end of summer, although summer won't end here in the tropics until, oh, November or so. K
Gosh Charlie, it seems like you've been having your unfair share of lightning/hail and subsequant repairing of towers this year; more than in previous years combined it would appear. Makes one wonder what this winter holds for the Keweenaw?

Isaac gave us 6" of rain and three tornado touchdowns in this central Illinois County, fortunately no damage or injuries. Finally clearing today for the holiday. Sounds like we weren't the only ones to have adverse weather. Happy Labor Day!

Agreed, Mikie, holidays are always better than days of labor! :}

Especially like the beach towels + smores pics. Last fling of Summer, and the weather was good 4 the Mackinac Bridge Walk. Number 4 for me, today.

Congratulations on your bridge walk, Thomas. My husband never got to do that but he had several tee-shirts that stated 'he did'.:> They were on sale. ;)
