The Copper Harbor Trails Club and friends have a unique way of showing their hospitality and it targets the hikers and bikers that frequent a trail called The Flow, on Brockway Mountain Drive. Each Sunday for an hour - 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. - biking or hiking on this trail, you will come upon a group of people having breakfast. The volunteers (people from Copper Harbor or even tourists who join in for the pleasure of it) prepare a 2-course meal with juice for anyone who drops in. What a surprise for those who aren't aware of this event, when they're minding their own business, riding or hiking on the trail and first they smell the food cooking, then they happen upon the group busily preparing and eating at picnic tables built by the CHTC. Everyone is invited and welcome to stop and eat. Some folks are even photographed with Lake Superior as a backdrop, while enjoying this unique breakfast experience.
The groups are growing each week, with nearly 100 fed at the last breakfast. Menu items have included: Keweenaw raspberry crepes, asparagus and cheddar or chorizo and cheddar omelets with tabouli salad and fresh fruit. Sounds quite yummy!
At the end of each breakfast the volunteers return to Copper Harbor with a full load of leftovers & cooking items. There is no charge for this culinary outdoor adventure, but donations are accepted and benefit The Copper Harbor Trails Club.

Thought for sure that Brenda would somehow be involved with these pictures. She surely does enough out of doors. Looks like a fun time. And the food looks scrumptious!

Oh my goodness that would be like a dream! I sure would enjoy those folks for sure. What a great thing to do. Now I wish I lived up there and could be involved with that group of fine folk.
Deb S. I chuckled out loud when I read your comment. I could not find that like button though.
Your Lake Superior photos were GRAND.
Such great photos today and a very fine story too.

Thanks, Brenda. But you WERE the first person I thought about when I opened up this page. You take such fun outdoor pictures. But you're right. This would surely be fun! It's my dream to move up there and live in Eagle River, but by the time that happens, I'll be too old to enjoy this kind of stuff. Oh woe is me!

I hope they didn't have to pack those picnic tables in and out. They look pretty stout.
