This Mama Robin moved right in at Patty Rheault's family farm out in Bootjack. And from the looks of it, she's made herself right at home, coming and going to take care of her growing family. Patty has been there right along, snapping some photos to share of the happenings and was even lucky enough to capture four babies sticking their necks out, looking for Mama to bring them some dinner. Before you know it, these little babies will be pushed out of the nest and learning to fly. Sure is nice of Patty to help them along the way!

The last photo reminds me of the candidates...publicity hounds. :^)

Good comparison, Alex.
The mama is a 'smart bird', building her nest near a lightbulb to help keep her little featherless babies warm at night.:>

Wonderful pics, Patty...thank you!

We have swallows that come every year and raise a brood in a birdhouse under our front eave of the house. LOVE all the comings and goings all spring long. They came again this year but have since flown the coop. So quiet once they're gone. :-(

JoAnne, are you suffering empty nest syndrone, when they leave...LOL...;O)

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 - 10:26 am:

JoAnne, maybe your swallows 'returned to Capistrano'.:)
At one place we lived years ago, swallows would make their nests atop our front porch posts and when we'd go out the front door, they'd attack us! Not a friendly bird. :<

These pics are for the birds (lol). Anyway, I hope mamma bird is safe from Opie Taylor's slingshot.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 - 03:15 pm:

lol Thomas! Opie's birds, Winkin', Blinkin' and Nod!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 - 04:17 pm:

Thomas and Janie, it's good to see I'm not the only fan of that show. I really liked Opie 'cause our son looked a lot like him at that age....red hair and all. ;) BTW, that was a cute episode you all are referring to.

Last weekend we ate at a great place in Antrim
County called the Blue Pelican. They had lovely
hanging baskets all around the dining porch. Except
one, which was quite dead, but still hanging there.
We puzzeled over it for a while until a little
noggin appeared and then the story was obvious.

jbuck...so you were served the last one?

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 - 05:18 am:

Seems they were waiting for the little guy to get
bigger before he was the 'special'!
