I know, right Charlie? I love those kinds of questions, lol!

By DEAN SCHWARTZ SR. (Lulu) on Saturday, May 26, 2012 - 08:07 am:

This being "Memorial Day", week-end 2003 seem's to be my favorite. Let us all remember all of the service members, past, present and the future.

By Sldmi (Sldmi) on Saturday, May 26, 2012 - 08:31 am:

I know I'm late in posting but I'll throw my two cents worth in. My favorite is 2005. Have a good weekend everyone.

2005

I agree with you, Dean, you just can't beat the beauty of "Old Glory"! God Bless America!

I agree with Dean and Sldmi. I loved 2005 and it's always great to see Old Glory!

This is a post about the Duck Lake/Pike Lake fire:

As of 8:30pm last night we aboard the freighter
S/S CASON J. CALLAWAY could see the orange glow
and smoke from 30miles NW of Two Hearted River as
we were coming down bound for the Soo. I'm the 8-
12 wheelsman & at 10:45pm as we got closer to
Crisp you could see one big orange glow and then a
line of orange running east along the shoreline
,had to have been at least 3miles long heading for
Little harbor and Crisp Pt. light. Keith Baker 8-
12 wheelsman S/S CASON J. CALLAWAY.

Thanks for that update, jbuck. What a sight that must've been for the crew. Sure hope all those on shore are safe.

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Saturday, May 26, 2012 - 07:21 pm:

Thankfully there have been no reports of people
hurt.

Now the National Guard are activated to help fight
the fire. They are 'foaming' any structures they
can.
