I only saw 2007 also. Loved the Welcome to Upper Michigan picture. And one of those ladies in the 1941 picture could pass for my grandma. Had to look twice.

Good Morning. Speaking of Lake Michigan, the Invincible, carrying 17 men, was grounded off Manistee, MI, while it was under tow by tug boats to Sturgeon Bay, WI. It was carrying 49,000 gallons of diesel fuel. For now, the ship is upright and not leaking. The Coast Guard is monitoring the situation and investigating how the grounding happened. Today is my sister Mary Creedons birthday. It is also the Pope, and my bil Walt Wisniewski's. Three of my favorite people. Was raining here, but now is windy and sunny. My grandson Charlie and I are bonding. Hope he doesn't mess his pants. Not a job I like doing.

Cooking hamburgers on the grill. When it comes to cooking on the grill, we're like the postal employees; "Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor gloom of night".

Joey is doing okay and enjoying life. Cooking a hamburger for him.

It's blowing fairly good out there tonight, and Lake Michigan is roaring moderately. Around 10:30 I saw a laker leave Muskegon, all lit up. Don't know which boat, but now she's way out on the northwest horizon, and I need my binoculars to see the pyramid of lights on her stern. Be safe out there, all you mariners. Here's a late night prayer for you.
