When Mike Schneider was walking in the woods recently, he had that feeling he was being watched, so he looked around and the top photo is what he saw or maybe I should say, who he saw looking at him. He snapped a photo quickly and then continued on his hike. The next thing he saw was something coloring the floor of the forest, some of the first crocuses of the year. One purple and one white in these two photos and a very welcome sight, brightening up the spring landscape. Yes indeed, you never know who or what you'll find, when you head off on a trail in the woods UP North.

Very nice! Those deer look kinda thin, but they made it.

Nice photos; I especially like the crocuses. Alex, that was my first thought, too, on how thin those deer look. I don't remember seeing such thin deer before, in my limited experience.

Hey, that looks like my woods and my deer!;) Unfortunately there are no more crocus around our house. I think all the hostas choked 'em out, those things spread like wildfire.

Nice flowers, and, oh deer.

My daughter (Ishpeming area) reported that they had deer, a bunny
rabbit and a couple of wild turkeys visiting their backyard today.
Her crocuses and daffodils are blooming already on the sunny side
of the house.

The critters do look a bit scruffy in their Winter coats! They will soon be looking good as the green shoots come up and they fill out.

This weather makes me wonder when the morel season will be this year!
