If that's the case, then "y'all" can have 'em!;> (congratulations) FJL, not that it matters now, but I was pulling for Virginia Tech.....always have to root for the Confederacy!;)

No snow here in Green Bay yet. My wife and I are quite content to have the snowblower parked in a corner of the garage. Maybe I shouldn't had the snow tires put on my car?? Unfortunately there is snow in the long range forecast.
I was pleased at the MSU win------that is one of my alma maters!!

Tom - it's even worse than that - I live in Colorado which is 2 hours behind Michigan so it was only 2, my time. I woke up, thought about the turkey and went for it. The good news is that I did get back to sleep.

Hi. It seems to me that the rules on the Early Bird changed this week. It had been that whoever managed to post the closest to, but no earlier than 8:00 am, would get the Early Bird, IF Charlie had not posted the question yet. Then, all of a sudden this week, it's whoever posted the earliest after midnight? Gee, then we could post before we go to bed and get either the Early Bird or Night Owl? What are the rules of the game now, Charlie? It's confusing, when they change after a long period of time, with no apparent warning. I appreciate all that you, Charlie, and Mary and Jon and all do, by the way. Thank you.

I just heard on the news at lunch that the shops that sell ice-fishing equipment (lures, shanties, etc.) are really hurting, due to the warm weather. Good deals should be available if you’re interested.
Just be sure to wait until the water freezes before you use it, is my advice :-)

My opinion of the "Early Bird" is; that there is enough on this site to keep us interested without getting into an early morning competition. The object of this site is to enjoy all of the yooperism.

Yep Alex, the warm weather is here. Near Twin Lakes and Houghton the snowmobilers are swarming, but, no ice-fishing. There is no such thing as safe ice.

Only got 16" of snow in Ontonagon and this week it will probably turn to slush. :(

Marianne, I tend to agree with you....seemed simpler when the early bird went to the first 'poster' at or nearest to 8:00am. No reflection on those like 'sometimesyooper', Deb, and others who've already won on this new rule. It really is confusing. Help!

I think the early bird contest was the best when you had to wait to try after the picture of the day was posted, no matter how late that was. It was more of a challenge than just being the first to post after 8 am. There was a lot of competion back then. But early bird or no early bird, this is great website.

I think the Early Bird is still for whoever answers the question correctly first, or whoever is the first to post by 8 o'clock if Charlie hasn't posted the question yet. And Shirley, you'll get it. I just know it:) Either way, this site is awesome!

Except that the Early Bird had already been given out for some reason unbeknownst to anybody but Charlie. And it's his site, lol! Maybe he just wanted to let Nancyd have the bird. And anyway, there was no question.

Perhaps Charlie has been working 24 X 7 and had no time to devise a question or to hang out waiting for the 8am time stamp. Loosen up people!!!

I like that one Shirley. LOL. The ham-bone just went in for the night. Then in the morning, while Bill is gone, I will put it thru a strainer and the juice goes in the fridge overnight. Sunday morning I get all that thick grease off and get to the pure broth. I am going to make boiled dinner with it. We had a pasty for lunch. ;O)
