Back on September 24, 2011, we stopped along M-26 for a look at the tunnel (culvert, actually), that goes under the road and out on the sandy beach of Great Sand Bay. Today, Ashlee Harvey and her exploring kids, take us back there, to find frozen water in the tunnel. I little trickier making your way through and out to Lake Superior, when it's all ice like that. But once you're on the other side, you sure are treated to a beautiful view. That last photo, looks like Ashlee may have been standing atop the new stairway down to the beach, when she snapped it. Guess this time of year we should change the name of this spot to Great Snow Bay.

Nice place to get some exercise (1st photo). I do that every morning (sure). I like the 9-24-11 photos as well.

I had to laugh at the first photo...looks like one youngster got his foot frozen to the pavement, like 'the old tongue stuck to the flagpole trick'.;-P Cold pics!

Thanks for the great photos! I like to stare at them and picture myself there. Can just hear the wind roughing up the water and maybe even stirring sand. Since I use a cane I'd better not try walking on those icy places tho :O>) Got about 10 below wind chill here this morning. My little garden flag is flapping away. Another day of hibernation. Lots of snow due tomorrow. And don't blame Al Gore for this weather, he was just the messenger.

Kay, I agree, there's nothing like the sounds of the winds and waters, in any season! But unfortunately we cane-users (I use 2) can't really take part in that enjoyment anymore. But, we can dream, eh?:-)

And Al Gore said "Poisoning the food chain anywhere ultimately poisons the food chain everywhere"....and Kay is correct, won't be his fault!
