Good morning everyone! Have a blessed day!

By Charlie at Pasty Central on Thursday, March 24, 2005 - 07:14 am:

This week someone mentioned seeing a class from Elm River Township on the Houghton County Airport Cam. Our thanks to manager Dennis Hext for capturing the occasion to share with the Pasty Cam:

Happy Easter Yooper and All!

Thanks Charlie for identifying the kids at the airport. Elm River, I am very familiar with the school. I attended from Kindergarten thru eighth grade. Now I believe the school has kindergarten thru sixth grade. Which allows for more personalized instruction, i.e. the above field trip!

Good morning everyone :)

I got a nice surprise yesterday. Instead of hubby being on the road until Saturday, he is doing day routes the rest of the week. How neat to see him off this morning, knowing that he would be home by dinner time tonight.

Yep, got my pen in hand and am working on that 'Honey Do' list for him, now that he has all that free time this week. ;)

Who is the kid with the mustache?face

By Mr. Bill on Thursday, March 24, 2005 - 11:16 am:

sur5er,

You and my wife had the same schooling ....

I know that nature abhors a vacuum, but why is it every time that I even eye the easy chair, out flash's a list, that would choke a mule.

By Deb on Thursday, March 24, 2005 - 11:20 am:

Guido, which one? I see two mustaches. Tee hee! My guess one is Mr. Hext and the other belongs to Hank Feldhuizen???

By sur5er on Thursday, March 24, 2005 - 12:21 pm:

Mr. Bill,

About those 'Honey Do' lists...this is why my hubby prefers to do it himself.

A couple of winters ago, hubby was getting ready to leave for the road. And when he got up in the middle of the night to leave, we noticed it was a bit cold. Hubby kissed me on the cheek, walked out the door and remarked, "I'll take a look at that furnace when I get back home at the end of the week."

By the time the temps in the house got down below 50 degrees, I knew I would have to fix it myself...and found out it was the thermastat.

Searched all day long for that darn thermastat...but no one carried the one that I needed. Finally, at the last heating and cooling place, I found the thermastat...but the problem was that it was $150.

Women know all about overhead...and about haggling...and how to lay it on thick to get the best price. "My hubby is on the road...hundreds of miles from home...the furnace won't work without the thermastat...and it's mighty cold out there..." Men have never quite acquired this skill...but I got that thermastat for only $30.

Took that steal of a deal home, installed it, and had heat. Hubby gets home from the road, and I told him about the deal I got on the thermastat. But now he wanted to know what I did with the $120, I saved on the thermastat.

"Installation charge," I tell him.

"But I thought you installed it yourself," he asked puzzled.

"I did," I beamed proudly, "and I charged you $120 to install the thermastat."

"But that's more than the repair man would have charged me."

"Exactly," I replied, "now quit your belly aching...be thankful I didn't charge you the original price on the thermastat."

Since then, every weekend when hubby comes home, the first thing he grabs is his Honey Do list.

By Mr. Bill on Thursday, March 24, 2005 - 02:35 pm:

sur5er,

Man I sure hope that Mrs. Bill dosen't read this, or I'm in big trouble.

What school teaches you gals all this? or is it passed on from mother to daughter?

By sur5er on Thursday, March 24, 2005 - 04:56 pm:

I think it's something to do with the genes :)

Hubby just got home from his day route and is tackling the "fix the dishwasher" on his Honey DO list. I do feel sorry for him though...after all, he has been up since two this morning and put in a hard day's work. The least I can do for him is stiffle a giggle each time he trips the circuit breaker, as he works on the dishwasher, and run downstairs and reset the circuit breaker for him...it's the least I can do. :)

Mr. Bill,
It's instinct.

Gina from Gwinn I sure miss coming to Gwinn!

By Lowell MO. on Thursday, March 24, 2005 - 06:11 pm:

MR. Bill:
The best way to handle that is not have a "Honey-Do List". No such thing in my house. If something needs fixing it gets fixed when I get around to it. Settled that problem long time ago.

By Judy on Friday, March 25, 2005 - 05:55 am:

sur5ver, he works, he comes home and works.....you play on the computer all day? How's that fair?

By Susan, Fl on Friday, March 25, 2005 - 06:38 am:

Judy.....I don't think what Sur5er does on the computer can be termed "play"....she works with crime victims....on the computer...and once in a while take a quick break to check in with this site...

By Margaret, Amarillo TX on Friday, March 25, 2005 - 06:51 am:

Mornin'

By Amber, Lake County on Friday, March 25, 2005 - 07:10 am:

Judy, Judy, Judy: Where have you been? Not privy to the 'Honey Do List' yet? Mom, didn't you teach her that one yet?

By Frank,,,,,,,Milw....... on Friday, March 25, 2005 - 09:56 am:

Let me see,,,,,,"once in a while" means, not often , and a "quick break" is, how fast???? Just wondering......

By Frank,,,,,,Milw....... on Friday, March 25, 2005 - 10:19 am:

Now I understand why, when Hubby gets home after a long week on the road, the"first thing he grabs" is the list, not his HONEY.....

By sur5er on Friday, March 25, 2005 - 12:56 pm:

Tsk, tsk, tsk...what side of the bed did ya'll wake up on today? ;) Susan is right...I take very quick breaks to check on this site...and since I type about 100 words per minute, they are very quick. ;)

And as Susan said, what I do on the computer isn't deemed play....not by the furthest stretch of the imagination.;) Although we must admit, Susan, that knowing our hard work in LE, does at some point outsmart a criminal and his defense attorney, can be considered downright fun. :)

By Judy on Friday, March 25, 2005 - 08:51 pm:

Frank....you are so right! Thanks for the moral support. All jobs are important in one way or another, don't you think?
