Good morning everyone :) Time to rise and shine you sleepy heads. I am headed to bed after pulling another all nighter on this growing pile of paperwork.

Hope everyone has a beautiful day :)

That was quite an aircraft spotted by sg/milford on the Houghton County Airport cam yesterday afternoon:

At the airport
The webcams hosted by Pasty.NET have become quite a popular destination here at Pasty Central. I'll let you in on a little secret... We are installing a new webcam in the steeple at St. Anne's Church, to bring the live view of Main Street Calumet, which should be online soon.

Charlie,

We love your web site and thanks for giving us all the opportunity to chat and speak our piece. It kinda helps us get through the trials of the day.

Good morning to all.

Good morning everyone. It is 3:30am here in San Jose. Rise and shine, wake up your neighbors! I noticed that no one mentioned:
www.cutonion.com/
one of my favorites.

Mornin'.

Hey, Jeffers is the blast from the past!! Pretty neat! Course, I am a little prejudiced, as I graduated from JHS and currently have a son attending. It is a great old building. An addition was put on a couple of years ago, which was done so as to not take away from the historical aspect of the building. Or the view of the Huron Mountains as you come down the hill from the highway. New schools look great but old ones have such character. On the backside of the school is some very interesting stone art. Some day I would like to know the meaning behind it, looks like a stone eye. Anyone have any idea of what it stands for? Wish I had a digital camera so I could post a pic. TGIF! And Go Jets!

Hi Bev,
I mentioned CUTOnion.com, but I put it on the page where the ?? was first asked.

Taka still posts some wonderful picts of the Keweenaw, taken while he was at Tech, and some very interesting pictures of Japan where he is now.

Glad to hear you mention it, and hope more people will view it.

By maijaMI on Friday, February 25, 2005 - 09:19 am:

Speaking of Taka and CUTOnion.com: yesterday there was a discussion of the full moon. Check out Taka's gorgeous pict today of a full moon over the canal.

Good Old Jeffers High School. Holds a place in my heart too, Yooper Deb. I will have to go and take a look at the stone art in the back. I don't believe that I have ever noticed it. Maybe it is Mr. Jeffers keeping an eye on everyone out back that might be smoking. Ha Ha. I remember hearing stories about him as a kid. I am sure you do too. Thank goodness for the Jeffers family or we may not have had the opportunity to be part of such an awesome school.

Gulfstream-V. Reg # is a little difficult to make out. Looks like N910DC. Yup. It is a Daimler-Chrysler corporate jet (hence the DC in the reg num). Lots of pictures on the web. There are a number of sites where aircraft enthuiasts track the comings and goings of planes like this. G-V's are pretty near the top of the food chain in corporte jet world.

By KRC, Calumet MI on Friday, February 25, 2005 - 11:03 am:

Keweenaw Research Center (a division of Michigan Tech University) located at the Houghton County Airport is hosting a "Ride and Drive" this week for Daimler-Chrysler executives to try out their vehicles up in the Great White North on our winter test course.

Lots of "bigwigs" being shuttled up on the corporate Gulfstream...

By Gordo, Mich. on Friday, February 25, 2005 - 11:28 am:

Love the picture of the jet. One of the most intresting paint schemes I have every seen on a plane. Think they would give a ride if we asked real nice? :o)

By JetNerd on Friday, February 25, 2005 - 11:54 am:

Ask real nice and bring your checkbook. G-V operating cost is about $4K/hour.

By Janie T. on Friday, February 25, 2005 - 11:59 am:

There have been sightings of robins here in Cedar Rapids, IA. for the past few days and our ponies are begining to shed their winter coats. Spring's a coming.

Charlie, Will you let us know when the new webcam in Calumet is up and ready for viewing?

Have been seeing quite a few large flocks of geese mostly snows and our flowers are budding out. I have a very large maple in my front yard and it is also budding out. Interesting plane at the airport. 59 and sunny and nice out today.

Note to Love-to-Cook and sur5er, I too love the All Recipes website. I use it all the time and almost always have success with a recipe if I like the ingredients and many reviewers have good comments about it. To sur5er, thanks much for the links to your other favorite sites. Made rosemary lamb chops tonight from All Recipes. Outstanding! Any other favorite cooking sites will be appreciated as well.

One of my other favorite sites is:

I love this site for breakfast recipes and menus...no more boring breakfasts! I love to spoil the family a little when I am home in the mornings. These recipes are from Canadian Bed & Breakfasts.

Dickie always told the students there is a hidden camera in the stone eye. The artwork in the stone arch over the center entrance is interesting, too. The building itself is a work of art. I notice something 'new' every time I gaze up and around, inside the building and out. Every time I hear a strange noise or feel a sudden draft, I figure it's Fred and Cora making sure their presence is known and I don't dare cut corners!

By Deb on Monday, February 28, 2005 - 10:59 am:

Joyce T: Did you ever hear the story of the little girl's ghost that supposedly in the high school? When I was doing researach for the Painesdale Centennial, I came upon that. I'd have to check all my notes to get the story right before I tell ya any more. But I am sure she's a friendly ghost. Probably shouldn't say anything to make you more nervous when you are on your shift in the school.
