Being just a third-generation Yooper Finn, maybe I missed something … I never quite understood whatever subtle difference there may be between "pank" and the perfectly good English word "tamp", but "pank" it always was, fer shure!
I had a hunch that perhaps "pank" (verb) was in some way related to "snow bank", perhaps from Finnglish: "pank" (noun), which of course was where you put your raha! J

I do not know the address but I will get brave again I will post the New? picture 1985. My mom also showed me the home where she went to kindergarden. It was up on a large hill and railroad tracks were in front of the house. She said the Gagnons lived near there too?? Thanks for all the help.. I love trying to find out our history, Ellen
