Thanks for the picts of previous snow statues. Techies have their work cut out for them tonight! Can't wait to get up there and see what they've been able to come up with after the thaw.

Miaja,

Don't forget to take plenty of pics so you can share with all of us.

Great idea, sur5er. Maija, you could get yourself a guest gallery, how about that? You could also add a picture of those snow bridges. Anyhow, have a safe trip and don't make too much haste on the road! :)

I enjoy the chatting on here...and enjoy reading the posts/chatter of everyone. It makes me feel that I am home again in Michigan.

I lived in Michigan my entire life, and unfortunately became the victim of a very violent crime. Because of this crime, we were forced to flee out of the state of Michigan....and leave behind everything. This was not a move that any of us in our family wanted...and there is not a day that I don't become homesick for Michigan.

The posts on this page offer such healing to me, and make the span of miles between our current home and the UP seem not as far. Someday, we will be able to return home...but until...

By joeyooper on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 - 05:23 pm:

sur5er: I know I am going to be sorry for this posting. But, why would you ignore the policy for this great site. And what drove you out of Michigan? I read your posting about violence, and it doesn't make any sense. What is the rest of the story.

By Bob Austin Tx on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 - 05:35 pm:

My thoughts exactly Joey

By copper country resident on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 - 06:54 pm:

Sir5er- if this issue with the crime you experienced is a personal & upseting one, you
should not have mentioned it. Now you have people out there wondering what it is. Maybe you should have kept quiet about the whole thing!!!

By dm on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 - 08:20 pm:

Or at least not put your E-mail address for the whole world to see.

By sur5er on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 - 09:49 pm:

Joeyooper,

I am not ignoring the policy of this site...just mentioned that I (and I am sure others)enjoy the wonderful posts that others post here. And why the posts here mean so much to me.

Sorry if I upset you. If you want answers to your questions, you can email me and I will explain...as some posters have.

DM: the email I use here is the same email address that I use for my work with crime victims (survivor). ;)

copper country resident,

you must really like to stir things up. I can't even count how many times you are/were rude. Give it a rest.

By downstate don on Thursday, February 10, 2005 - 12:54 am:

I go along with CHILL, if the person finds comfort
in connecting with this site, they should be able
to. Evidently this person has had some sort of
tramadic experience and had no other choice but to
move away. The person only wishes to keep in touch
with their roots.

joyooper types: I read your posting about violence, and it doesn't make any sense. What is the rest of the story.

joeyooper, how can this not make sense? Look at all things going on in this world. Crime is all around us, no matter where we live. You shouldn't expect SUR5R to go into detail about any of it.

What if her attacker didn't go to jail and she feared for her and her families life. Tell me you wouldn't move if something so violent happened and you feared for your life.

By sur5er on Thursday, February 10, 2005 - 02:52 am:

Me: Thank you. I didn't mean for this to become an issue on this board, but to express to everyone on this board how much reading the posts mean to me....it is something that I enjoy reading each day, and brightens my day.

And yes ME, that is why we had to move.

By sur5er on Thursday, February 10, 2005 - 03:03 am:

Downstate Don,

Thank you. I still consider myself a Michiganer, and refer to Michigan as home.

By danbury, slightly rolling again on Thursday, February 10, 2005 - 03:16 am:

I once got into an on-site exchange with another pasty.cammer (Hi if you're on) and after a few posts, remembering AUP, suggested switching to E-Mail. Answer came back that since our exchange might be of interest to more people, she preferred to keep it here. Since no one objected, we did so to the very end, without any negative comment about it (or they might have been deleted:)). While I basically agree, there's usually so little chatter (and I admit to having enjoyed sur5er's postings), and most of all I think such an honest expression of personal emotions as mentioned above should not be met with cold applying of rules. Screeech.

By Fran, GA on Thursday, February 10, 2005 - 03:22 am:

Sur5er, I am sorry for what happened to you and am glad that Pasty cam is here for you. I hope it won't be too long before you can go back to Mich.

Sur5r,

I e-mailed you

By sur5er on Thursday, February 10, 2005 - 07:53 am:

Got it...will email you back as soon as I get my day started. ;)
