By Brent, UPstate NY on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 07:38 am:

Hyvää huomenta! To everyone who supply the great languange items for me on yesterday's What'sUP. My customer did indeed appreciate the Finnish greetings. Have a peaceful weekend and stay warm.

Anything new on the tech snow statues? I know if the kids go to tech they have to learn to be true Keweenaw people, but I am worried about this 'hot' spell you are having!

By Joe Finn, Rhinelander, Wi on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 08:22 am:

maijaMi: Go to mininggazette.com It doesn,t look good right now. But, they still have another week. I hope!

By maijaMI on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 08:46 am:

Thanks Joe Finn, I did that. What great spirit these young men and women have, and what a great exercise for engineering students!

Another warm day, night, and day predicted then it will finally get cold again.

It's all part of the game, hey?

By Steve,WI on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 09:37 am:

What happened to the bridge, all I see is gray.

By Dave, Laurium on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 10:01 am:

Yep, looks like just about everything in the area is 'fogged' in right now. Unusually warm day today with the temp supposed to get up to about 46. At least the melt will make room for the rest of the winter we have ahead of us...

By Erik on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 11:46 am:

Spring is just around the corner...just skip over to my new gallery -"Summer" (https://www.pasty.com/pcam/yooper159) to preview the days to come. We all better enjoy winter while its here because it won't last that much longer...

By Margaret, Amarillo TX on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 12:06 pm:

I love all the pictures. Thanks Erik, love the slide shows. July, 2005, I should be somewhere close by.

By Margaret, Amarillo TX on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 12:08 pm:

Hey! Sharon, looks like a dust cloud off your porch. The bridge is still a little foggy.

By Mary Drew at Pasty Central on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 01:20 pm:

Ed Chaput alerted me to a neat photo over on Boatnerd.com, of the Paul R. Tregurtha, passing an ice shanty on the St. Mary's River. It was taken by Bonnie Barnes. I'd hate to be the fisherman/woman in that shanty! :-o

By RCW on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 01:44 pm:

You can say that again Mary. That was close!!

By Mr. Bill on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 02:32 pm:

What a great shot, even if it's an optical illusion, that's way too close for "comfort".

Can you imaging sitting inside and all of a sudden hearing the ice cracking! Enough to turn you into a vegan.

By copper country resident on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 03:35 pm:

What a picture, Mary, that's enough for a person
to have an accident!!! If you know what I mean!

By Fran,Ga on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 04:06 pm:

That is way too close for comfort!

By Ken ja Mimi from da UP on Saturday, February 5, 2005 - 09:13 pm:

This message is to the former students of the Pewabic school who are planning a reunion. I have not heard anymore about it except for the mention on 1-24-05. I am interested in attending.
Please contact me. Mahalo....
