Sur5er-
To answer your question about the trees in NJ! Yes, shocking as it may be to the rest of the country- NJ actually has a lot of forest! IN FACT New Jersey is the Garden State, which comes from the many farms that were in this state for centuries. Now there are many McMansions growing where vegetables used to grow. The state has actually set aside thousands of acres right here in the area I live in, to save a vital watershed and recreation area. IF you can avoid the shopping areas and highway areas like Rte's 46,17, 3, and 23, the NJ TPK, etc, you would be amazed at the beautiful areas there are here. The NJ shore area has rightful bragging rights for beauty also, but I only go down that way off season- way toooo many people in summer. But no matter how many beautiful areas I drive through in NJ, I find my heart is in the UP. NOTHING comes close to feeling I get whenever I cross over into the Upper Penninsula!

Missin The UP, Wow, I never would have guessed that NJ had all those forests. I've gone out that way with hubby, and I always chuckled at the sign "welcome to the garden state", as we sat in miles of traffic. Isn't that something how we get an imagine of a place, based on only seeing a section of it?
Hear you about the feeling when you cross the Mighty Mac and hit God's Country. Yaaaaaaaaahoooooo!
