Langoman -
I don't see any construction anywhere. Where are you looking?

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 - 10:54 am:

Good morning everyone. Temps here are finally starting to cool back down again. It was 45 degrees here yesterday...not my idea of winter. Bring on the cooler weather and most definately the snow...and let's get back to winter :)

Happyooper, Perhaps Langoman thought the snow mobile trailers were construction trailers?

Sharon, Hope you have a safe trip home...and that Mr. Kitty is behaving himself and being a nice considerate passenger ;)
My sis and I were laughing about when we were kids and we had pestered our dad to take our cat up north camping with us. It was obviously before pet crates were invented, eh. Anywho, the plan was that we girls would keep the cat in the back seat with us..but somehow along the trip, the cat ended up in the front seat...with all four paws frimly planted into my dad's leg, as he was driving.
It went from bad to worse, when my dad was able to shake the cat from his leg, only to have the cat attach herself to the brake pedal. All four of us girls were in the back seat...crying and screaming at my dad not to hit the brake, because we were convinced he would crush poor Miss Kitty.
Somehow, my mom was able to lean across the front seat, and detach Miss Kitty from the brake pedal, as my dad continued driving.
At that point, dear old dad was ready for a rest stop...and of course, this was before the days of those nice rest areas. Instead, you just pulled off on the side of the expressway, eh. Dad of course wanted to stay as far away from Miss Kitty as possible, so he attached her leash to the camper door, as we had our picnic.
Miss Kitty had other ideas...and there was no way she was going to get back into that car...so she climbed up under the camper, and into the tire well...and of course on the side by the traffic.
So here's this poor man...both legs shredded by Miss Kitty...laying on his stomach on the shoulder of I-75, trying to coax Miss Kitty from the tire...and us four girls shreaking and screaming at our dad to save Miss Kitty. I bet we were a sight for passing motorists, eh :) Never took Miss Kitty camping with us after that...I wonder why.

You're just an adventurer Sur5er.

By Charlotte, Mishawaka, IN (Charlotte61) on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 - 01:08 pm:

Good afternoon from Mishawaka, IN. A damp, gray day with rain off and on. When I was out doing some errands this morning when I was stopped at a stoplight-a bolt of lightning came out of nowhere and then two loud crashes of thunder. Took a minute to decide just exactly what I had heard and seen. It happened so quickly.

My break is flying by to quickly. I've enjoyed being home but will be ready to return to school next Tuesday. Mainly, I want to see if we have our library yet. Ten days before break we had an open house for the staff---next day we had a flood. This is like an on going soap opera at MHS.Renovations have been going on for the last
18 months or so. We are the last to be finished.

Sur5er, I never took a cat camping but I took one to Oklahoma when we were first married. The cat hide under the front seat the whole trip. Every time we stopped for gas I was sure it would take off for who knows where.

Marsha and Charlotte! Loud thunderboomers and big lightning flashes here also! I really don't like this kind of weather after winter starts. I would rather have the snow and cooler weather stay after it once starts. I'm trying to shake a rough cold. Oh well you can't please all of the people. Fickle Mother Nature! 362 days till Christmas.
