Halork, I didn't want to believe it either about Walmart and Christmas greetings...until I witnessed it first hand, the other day. The entire time I stood in line, it was the customer who wished the cashier "Merry Christmas"...only to be responded with by a "same to you", by the store employee.
On my way out of Walmart, I wished the door greeter a Merry Christmas...which was answered with a "you too".
At all the other stores I visited that day, I was greeted with "Merry Christmas" by the store cashiers, and the door greeters. In the check out line at the grocery store, I watched as the cashier wished each of her customers a "Merry Christmas". When it was my turn in line, I told her what had happened at Walmart, and she confirmed what I had heard about Walmart employees not being allowed to say, "Merry Christmas" because it is viewed as a religious holiday.
Nope...I don't like Walmart either...but it's the only store that carries shea butter.
