My boss is asking what is the restaurant that serves great pasties in Hancock. I'm thinking Finlandia??? If there is another, please let me know.

The restaurant in Hancock with the great pasty was the Kaleva but it closed in September.
Try the Suomi Restaurant over in Houghton.

Thanks, I forgot about the Kaleva. I sure hope someone reopens it back up like they're doing with the Hut. And thank you about telling me about Suomi Restaurant. I also forgot about that restaurant too. Its been many years since I ventured up to the U.P.

We have a snow advisory for most of lower Michigan. Expecting 9 inches. Its been snowing since I arrived at work at 7:30 AM and it keeps on snowing here at 9 mile in Warren.

Sdcferndale, My hubby called from the road, and told me that all across northern Indiana and northern Ohio, he has been in a constant snow storm...that's how far south that snow storm is. Please drive carefully folks...roads are really bad, and hubby is only doing about 40MPH on parts of the Indiana and Ohio tollways.

sdc: I'd advise your boss to make the trek up to Calumet/Laurium for Toni's pasties.

Hello out there in Pastyland... does anyone know what happened to Taka's website? When I type in something else pops up... any clues??

We just discussed that here a couple days ago. All I could find was someone by the same first and last name in Canada.

Taka took a new job in Japan at which time he changed his site to update only weekly. Soon after, he was off line. Have heard nothing since. Hope someone can update us.
