I'd like to remember Uncle Willard Erickson passed away just about Christmas at the nursing home in Hancock....a farmer and businessman from $$$bay...he was a wonderful man...had a long life. I remember spending nights at his house with he and my aunty Elsie....man the fun I had with all the animals they had on the farm.

My Uncle, Joseph A Niemi. passed away December 23 2005 in Piqua, Ohio. He was the Son of the late Edward and Wilma (Fraki) Niemi of Hancock.Husband of Jorja Niemi. He was a Graduate of Michigan Tech University and lived in Hancock when he was there. He loved the U.P .loved to go up and go fishing. He was someone I could always count on and ,was a special person to a lot of us and will be missed very much by his family and friends

Prayers are with the family of Donald Brulla, formerly of Calumet, who passed away Tuesday and whose funeral is today. His wife, Linda, introduced me to pastycam years ago via the driveup window of the McDonald's where she works down here.

In memory of my cousin Paul Averitt 62, from Hubbell. He died at his home on December 24,2005. He had diabetes for 14 years. It wasn't until the last few months that he was disabled with it. He had to take a leave of absence from his job at Walmart. He served in the U.S.Navy for 21 years then moved to Hubbell with his 3 children. He was a devoted father & a friendly & giving person. He will sadly be missed by his family & fellow employees at Walmart.
Also remember Eileen Andrews 90, from Hancock. She was my father's cousin. She also passed away on Dec 24th.

I would like to remember my Grandfather, Robert Upchurch, Sr., who passed away in September.

We're remembering our mom, Marie Goulette, who passed away Dec. 14, 2003. It's been two years, but it seems like yesterday. We miss you, Mom.

This is to remember my father, Wilbert "Kelly" Jonas, born in Laurium's Florida Location January 15, 1903, and died in Greenville Mississippi 40 years ago, December 11, 1965. He wanted to be buried in the Mississippi mud, so his bones rest there, but he is ever present as a guardian angel, although his physical presence has been greatly missed all these years. He would be happy to know I'll be settling back up in the Keweenaw when I retire in a coupla years.

Remembering a dear friend,Carol Dana Strombus,who died September 29th this year.

This is always a sad month as I remember my friend Billy Lydecker who was hit and killed by a car when we were 12 years old. I will never forget him.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL. WAS WATCHING A TV PROGRAM AROUND 3:15, AND WAS SURPRISED TO HEAR AND SEE DAN URBANSKI (sp). HE WAS USED TO SHOW THE FOLK FROM THE SHOW AROUND SOME OF THE SIGHTS NEAR LAKE GOGEBIC. IT WAS A GOOD SEGMENT. HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR.

Remembering John Hassenforder, my father in-law, who passed away December 12, 2005. He leaves behind a large loving family who will miss him dearly. All those who knew him were enlightened and motivated by his diverse interests and knowledge.

Pastor Jack Wallace.....Detroit World Outreach in Redford Michigan died the end of May this year on his way to Africa to dedicate a new church. He was only 49......His teaching abilities were like none I have ever known...His goal was to reach the city people others stay away from. He bussed the poor and mentally challanged people in......he supplied food, clothes,training for jobs. The list could go on and on.........He loved his congergation and we all loved him. Pastor taught us so much from the Word.......He is greatly missed

Please remember my aunt Christine (Tina) Stajniger, who went home to the Lord on the 10th of this month.

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the passing of my mother..

In memory of my Grandparents, Charlie and Rose Walstrom. It is 21 years this year that they went home to the Lord. Grandma in January and Grandpa in December 1985. I miss them dearly.

Nellie McNanniman was fatally hit by a car in December. I think it was 1972. Anyone who went to St. Ignatius Loyola at that time remembers her. She had the biggest funeral I have ever attended. Everyone knew her. She had a green plaid coat she always wore. God rest her soul.

In Memory of "Edna Mary Diotte Kooker McGinty" who passed from this world December 16th, 2005 at 93 years and 8 months old.

In memory of Martha J. (Haapala) Wiard. Passed away December 23, 2005 at age 93. She was born and raised in Herman, attended the old Herman School. After grade school she found a room to board "down the hill" and attended L'anse High School. From there she went to the University of Michigan and graduated with a degree in nursing. She Married Harold Wiard who preceeded her in passing and is survived by their 3 children and thier spouses, grand children and great grand children.

Also in memory of Elmer Korpi of Traunik, married to Marietta and was a brother in law to Mrs. Wiard. He was 88 when he passed away this last summer. He was a lumberjack and also worked at the Pioneer Pellet Plant near Marquette.

They were both special friends and will be missed.
