Right now, son should be looking at this message board from Iraq. "Hello son", Everyone have a great day!!

By Donald Lucy (Deege71) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 07:07 am:

By Margaret, Amarillo TX (Margaret) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 07:14 am:

Mornin' just cold here.

By Donald Lucy (Deege71) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 07:31 am:

Glad to see that it worked. Sorry to hear about the snow. I guess it will be good for deer hunting. All is well here in Iraq, looking forward to coming home in a few months. Hopefully the Michigan winter isn't too bad this year. I sure do miss it though. Take care Mom and I'll talk to you soon.

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 08:17 am:

Sunrise Side and Donald...wow, how neat is that, eh. Now, with mother and son posting from miles apart. it will definately make PastyCam, that much more special, eh ;)
Donald, just wanted to let you know that your efforts and sacrifices...and those of all Americans in Iraq...are greatly appreciated, by all of us.

By lz (Llamamama) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 08:21 am:

A couple of heavy inches of snow here in SW Michigan. Fun drive into work this morning. Lost a lot of trees the last couple of days.

Donald, God Bless you and all your fellow service folk. My heart is with you taking care of the red, white, and blue.

By happyooper (Trigal) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 08:24 am:

Yay! My husband came home last night to plow me out. The snow is up to my knees, so it was a huge relief. He also got us some venison for the winter, although they already ate the tenderloins. Little bugger.

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 08:51 am:

Little Betsy update: Well we all had to break camp yesterday and today to jump back into reality. NO DEER, saw some little ones, but they need to grow. Nobody drown, Ben still has all his toes, Marty's, Mike's, and Ben's 4x4's have a few new U.P. pin stripes, Grampa Norm can head to Florida now a happy man, Chef Doug can relax back in Commerce Twp., Ben's dad, uncle Charlie can get back to Midland and running Dow Corning, as for me, I'll be back in the U.P. selling medical equipment a.s.a.p. The snow was fun!
P.S. Marty has 87 rolls of TP left, any takers? HA!
Regards,
UC

Sunrise Side, as a mother, I can feel that you will be having a great day having had contact with your son this early in the morning. I feel for you and all of the mothers suffering the pain of separation from their children. Donald, you and all of our troops are in our prayers daily. Hurry home. Be safe.

By Lulubelle/Hancock (Lulubelle) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 09:26 am:

This site sure "makes my day". I check it a couple of times a day to see what's new. Thanks.

Good luck in Iraq, we have a neighbor there and another guy my husband worked with for many years. Thanks to them too.

By Sunrise Side MI (Ilovelucy2) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 12:19 pm:

WOW!!! Thank you all for the kind words!! I really made my day and I am sure D.J. (donald) is very happy. He will be there until the end of January and I hope all will enjoy his words!! I know we will!
Love to all and be careful out there !!!

By Ms. Katie (Mskatie) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 12:40 pm:

sunrise/Lucy my heart goes out to you.And D.J. I'm putting a safety shield around you to protect you while you are there . Call it a "Ms Katie" shield, made up of prayers, good luck and just plain ol' commonsense on your part. :>

By Charles in Adrian (Charlesinadrian) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 03:33 pm:

This does not seem to be shaping up as a good year for deer
hunting which is what the DNR warned us about ahead of time. I
have a brother-in-law who spent 12 hours in a blind in
Menominee County on Opening Day and did not see a single
deer. Of course, he is from Esky, but his last name is not Soady.
Down here on the Ohio border my barber spent Opening Day in
a blind in spite of a cold rain. He saw 6 deer, but they were too
far away to attempt a shot. On the way home in the dark a doe
ran into his truck so he is claiming he got a deer even if it
appeared to be wayside-hamburger when he found it later. A hit
is a hit, right?

By Charles in Adrian (Charlesinadrian) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 03:46 pm:

I don't know if Mary will allow this, but I feel as tho something
should be said about those poor soldiers in Iraq> What a
terrible position they are in! The Sunnis are getting it in the
neck from our forces, but it is hard to see how that helps the
U.S. We are being drawn into a civil war in Iraq, and the only
"winners" are going to be the Shiites and their supporters, the
mullahs of Iran. Some weeks ago the London Times said that
the only nation to benefit from this war, as far as it could see,
was Iran.

By Beverly, San Jose (Beverly) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 06:38 pm:

UC: maybe next year if there isn't any snow Marty can lay out that TP and pretend it's snow. What happened...did you realize that your wives were having way to much fun and you made a beeline out of the bush because you thought you could put a stop to it? Ha Ha...fat chance! When the guys away the wives will play!

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 - 08:37 pm:

Hey Beverly, good to hear from you, no we had to get back to work, but we did get up there on the 10th so it was a good trip.
P.S. Marty's single, his wallet's in tact,lol.

By Donald Lucy (Deege71) on Friday, November 18, 2005 - 12:37 am:

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you all for the kind words. None of us really want to be here away from our families especially around the holidays. We all appreciate that you support us and I will definately pass your kind thoughts on to my guys. Take care all and hopefully the deer hunting will get better.

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Friday, November 18, 2005 - 07:42 am:

Charles in Adrian: It's already the next morning, but no new picture yet. Since I'm late, you may not see this, but I couldn't agree with you more. Our brave ones over there should be brought home!

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Friday, November 18, 2005 - 08:13 am:

Maija --I saw it and agree with you and
Charles. Bring them home! Most of our
troops have fought honorably and with good
intentions.
