We can't let the month slip away without noting that Chuck Voelker has some great new-old photos at Copper Country Reflections. Over the years Pasty Central has become a treasure chest of the history and beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, thanks to contributors like Chuck who devote thousands of hours clicking, scanning, cropping and uploading. Catching up on the Reflections website this morning, the gentleman on the bike grabbed my attention - quite a trick to keep your balance, I bet. It's on Mine Street in Calumet, a couple of blocks from the corner of Elm Street, present day location of Still Waters (where Pasty Central began, of course). In the photo notes, Chuck estimates the picture was taken sometime in the 20's. But I'm wondering if the dates on the cycle banner are not 1880-1931 ? Our thanks to Chuck for some interesting additions to the collection this month.
Hope you remembered to set the clock back an hour last night (or this morning).
Have a good week :0)
