Ironwood, MI is located on the borders of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula, boasting a Welcome Center with a bit of mining history to greet folks as they cross the state boundaries. Photographed by William Pekuri, this artifact is a rock core from the Gogebic Mining Range, with an added close-up of the sign giving us some background info on the sample. Nice touch, surrounding the building with Burning Bushes. Sure makes quite the welcoming sight for weary travelers.
Speaking of weary - - you may notice I got up at 3 o'clock this morning to change my clock back one hour from daylight savings time, just so's I could catch up on that hour of sleep I lost last April when we 'sprung ahead'. But a quick Google search to verify the correct time right now revealed that it's tomorrow morning we 'fall back' one hour. I think I'll fall-back-into-bed !

Hey, Toivo... You don't have to get up to change your clock. How about if you set it back before you go to bed tonight (Saturday). I know, you'll feel like you're cheating, but at the very moment the change happens - voila'! You'll already be set!
Actually, I can't take credit for this idea. I heard it from Bob Olson years ago on WMPL, back when he used to be the 'voice of Husky Hockey'. Wonder where Bob is these days? (probably asleep at the moment).
By the way, I was listening to Pasty.net last night and heard Ironwood beat Calumet pretty soundly in football.

Goodness! Looks like quite a few of you are REALLY early risers! Anyway, interesting photos! I've been to the Black River Harbor once, quite an amazing place!
