Today's pair of photos from Brian and Shawn Malone, remind me of a paint palette after you've taken the brush and rubbed the paints together. That's quite the view being taken in by the folks gathered around those picnic tables, but neither of the Malone's is spilling the beans about where that vista was taken from. I have my own thoughts about the location, but I'm going to keep them to myself and see if you, the viewers, can figure out where in the Keweenaw the tourist is? :-> Most of you should recognize the location of the second photo, though. Yes, that's on top of Brockway Mountain, which is still sporting plenty of green for this time of year.

Does anyone know if the dredge (pictured on Monday) has any logos or nameplates identifying the manufacturer?

I thought I'd add these two photos, keeping with the theme of 'getting high' in the Keweenaw that the original shots for today present. They were captured and sent in to me by Paul Roberts. The daredevil working on the Keweenaw County Sheriff's Dept. tower in Eagle River, is none other than our own Charlie Hopper! No fear of heights in that man! :->
What absolutely beautiful photos! Someday I WILL make it up there to enjoy the awesomeness of God's beauty in God's country! Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Am off for a fun filled family weekend of Halloweeen Camping!

I'm pretty sure the bottom one is from Brockway Mountain. I have my suspicions the top one is as well.

I think the first photo is from on top of Mt. Bohemia on fall color chairlift day. That's just the way it looked last year when I was up there anyway. I couldn't make it this year although I hear it was beautiful. Much better than last year when we had 30 mph winds and drizzle for the event. I do get to make a quick trip to Eagle Harbor next weekend although I'm guessing the color will mostly be gone by then.

Fantastic photos! If you haven't followed the link to Brian and Shawn's album yet, be sure to take a look! There's a lot more gorgeous pictures there!

Beautiful Pictures today!!! Now that the wind picked up, all the leaves will probably be gone. And yes, now the white stuff will begin to fly.

Another shot from Paul Roberts, lest we forget the "Ground support" for Pasty.net Wireless DSL, John Schneiderhan. He's up in the air too, just not quite as high off the ground as Charlie! Not so much color in this shot from Lac La Belle either, except for the red, white and blue! :->
I'd rather have John's job than Charlie's today!

Charlie, you're my hero! I helped a little this week putting new roof of sheet metal on an old machine shed . But hubby knows better than to ask me to go up higher than the bottom step on the ladder. I don't do heights.

The sky just doesn't get any "bluer" than in the big K..........

oh, hey, I see our photos here. Yes, Top is from Mt. Bohemia, although not great timing getting up there with a direct view into the sun... we couldn't believe the excessive reds, and not much of other colors, when we got up there.
