Living in the U.P. is something many folks plan on for their retirement years, but Britches is living the good life already, swishing that blonde tail and waiting for her neighbor, Ashley Byykkonen to stop by for a visit. The colors fencing this mare in, are pretty much at their peak right now and brilliant in places. Out and about, Ashley climbed up a birch tree to capture the middle shot, giving us an impressive view of Traprock Valley. Then, once again back on the ground she completed her trio of Valley shots with this classic, of an old farm shed bordered with a rainbow of leaves. Nice color tour Ashley!

What great color! We have practically none way down here. But we have had some much needed rain, thank goodness.

Beautiful pics Ashley. The pic of the horse, reminds me of my teenage years...and of spending my summers horseback riding. The last pic of the cabin, definately draws you in, eh. ;)

I have heard a story about a rather famous UP horse. Apparently there was a very beautiful roan stallion that had the unique ability to track down moose. The horse made its owner rather wealthy and well known. After some time, someone broke into the barn to take the horse out east to profit there. Around six months later a horse trailer showed up outside the farmers house with the return of his beloved horse. The man who had brought back the horse accused the farmer of being as big of a crook as he was, going on to say this horse could not find a single moose anywhere. The farmer replied that of course it won't. You see he stated "a stolen roan gathers no moose".
