Morning! Anyone know more about what happened at Canyon Falls over the weekend?

Good morning...time to rise and shine. I sure hope today is better than yesterday...I spent a record breaking fourteen hours back and forth with a customer service department. What a wasted day. Am definately headed outside today, to enjoy the beautiful weather, before it turns to rain tomorrow. ;)

Another question for Pasty folks: anyone know why 41 South in Marquette was closed yesterday? After we made a left turn with others that only brought us back to the closed part and sent us back into Marquette, we tried 553 to get to 94 to Munising. There an officer forced us left on county rd (don't know the number) which comes out on S 41 past the turn to 28. So we were fine and went from there, but still very curious as to why we could not continue on 553. An accident there too?

This was after we drove through the very heavy downpours south (east) of L'anse. On the county road we saw the most beautiful rainbow. Also something I have never seen before: it seemed to be ending on the right side of the road, sliding along among the trees and bushes just in front of us. It was amazing!

Still wondering about the closed roads, though. What would someone trying to get to Gwinn have done?

Does anyone know why we had what appeared to be a low flying fighter jet flying over Houghton yesterday? It made two low passes over Houghton and then left flying east. Manuevers maybe, but where is the closest base nowadays?

Oh this is too funny. Woman noted deer by the side of the road...but not the one standing in the middle of the road that her car hit.

No injuries involved in the accident. It's just the way it was worded.
Hubby did a number to his truck, with a deer accident, when we first moved here. All those years of living in Michigan and going up to da UP...and not one deer accident. Nope...he has a meeting with a deer in the middle of Gary IN. Now how many deer could there possibly be in Gary IN? Well none now, eh.

I didn't hear about 553 being closed but I know that there was a car accident US 41 near the prison area, a fatality. I have no details except that it was raining very hard and water does tend to pool up on that road. Perhaps the vehicle hydro-planed. My Mother also got rerouted on her way home from work

Reminds me of the time GM had to remove a Chevy model from the german market - in a chrash test, the thing proved to be as solid as jell-o.

Carmen. I heard on the radio this morning it was a practice run for a flyover they will make over the Tech homecoming game Saturday. I think thats supposed to be 12:55 pm.

Reason number 101 to move to da UP: It took me from 10:30am until 3:00pm today, to go less than ten miles in IL on I-80 to I-94. I should have brought provisions.

Sur5er - I was on I-80 today also. I hopped off. Try going around I-80 with Rt 6 or Rt 30.

Wish I was more familiar with IL roads. I know Michigan, like the back of my hand...but have never attempted to familiarize myself with IL or IN roads...because I know we will be home in da UP in a couple of years ;)
You know where the exit for I-57 on I-80 is? It took me two hours to go from there to the toll booth! What is that, like a mile?
I forgot my cell phone...and thus I couldn't call hubby to tell him, "don't go up to Mokena..cuz you won't make it home by the weekend." Fortunately, he came home route 30...and made it home within an hour.

Cindy,no further word on Cassie and the baby. Hopefully no news is good news!! Will let you know when I learn something.

Well, Brock ... you have a good night working. Have to admit I've had better days ... decided to "skate" in the kitchen earlier today and failed miserably ... ache all over tonight. Told my husband that this is why I don't skate or ski ... no grace whatsoever!
