It was a glorious day for the Terry Fox Run,
which I must admit I did as a walk/run. I'm
afraid that my style would be characterized as
more steadfast than fast. .. I went early
because I wanted to get to church and avoid
the crowds (at the run, not at church). So you
see, people can begin this 10 km
run/walk/wheel/ bike event anywhere between
9:00 and 2:00 at sites across Canada. In my
case I started at 7:30. This was my sixteenth
year running it and I always feel the strength of
those I am praying for. It gives me a chance to
remember some who have not been as lucky
as Margaret, but have made an indelible
impression on my life as well.
I've never had a strawberry daquiri, but I do
believe that I'll have my husband make me a
Michigan drink--bourbon and Vernor's (I
squirreled away a couple of cans on my last
trip).
Sur5er--wonderful news about the critters.
I don't like to drive around Chicago, Detroit,
Washington, D.C., Boston or Philadelphia, but
for a real knuckle whitener, you have to try
Montreal (where the signs are only in French
and require time for mental translation--never
enough!)
