HOLY WHA! Just filled the fuel tanks on my pick-up and my wife's Saburban and 1 five gallon gas can for the lawn tractor. $210.00. I figure it will cost me more to run my lawn tractor this weekend then it did to ride around with BJ for a weekend back in 1969 in that big old Ford.

By Danbury (Danbury) on Sunday, September 4, 2005 - 02:48 pm:

Well, Chuck, if you absolutely have to have that pick-up, your wife can't live without that 'burb, and neither of you can mow the lawn without a mower, you better break rich soon ... just joking.
I know there's people who have no choice.
On the other hand, there's people who'd be glad to have more left than the clothes they're wearing ...

Planning a trip to the Keweenaw Peninsula. Where do they serve pasties? I heard about Toni's in Laurium. Anyplace in Eagle River, Eagle Harbor, or Copper Harbor serve the tasty food?

Just got home from Michigan, and tallying my gas reciepts. Cost for gas: $225. Cost to be home once again: Priceless.
Had lunch in Frankenmuth, and watched the price at the gas station across the street change from $3.09 per gallon to $3.39.
Danbury: I don't know about Chuck K, but I can't live without my truck. It's my part of Michigan that I brought to Indiana with me ;)

Peter,

Yes! Pasty Central pasties are served hot and fresh at the Tamarack Inn in Copper Harbor. They are also available for carry out or a sit-down meal at the Eagle Harbor Store. Other outlets for Pasty Central pasties in the region include: the Jampot in Jacobs Falls and Hilltop Restaurant in L'Anse.

P.S. - Of course Pasty Central pasties can be delivered to your table, wherever you live in the USA. Online Orders have been pouring in since we started shipments again this month.

CK - Sad but true. Whatever happened to that car? Who would have known you had a classic for the Dream Cruise before it's time. $2.00 put Mom's gas tank from very empty to way past a quarter back then.
Didn't use much gas this weekend. I spent the weekend laboring in the lab at NOMC.

Hi BJ, I sold that old ford and it was wrecked a few weeks later. I wish I still had my 1966 Impala convertible and/or my 1969 GTO....those are classics. Sorry to here you had to work during the holiday. I am heading up north on the 17th for a week to close up the house for the winter.
