Everyone have a GREAT DAY!!!

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Thursday, September 1, 2005 - 02:57 pm:

Looks like the great Labor Day Exodus has
already started. I can hardly wait to go,
despite the cost of gas. Today it went for
$1.25 per liter--about $5.00 a gallon
(Canadian; about $4.00 U.S. equivalent).

Think I'll take the bus and subway to work
starting next week. I'm lucky to have that
option. With a Metro Pass, I can travel all
around town anytime for less than a $100 a
month.

This floating island rolled into Bete Grise Bay after midnight. It looks strangley like a tug and garbage scow. With 50+ mph gusts, I sure hope its cargo is battened down.

Wow, I've only seen freighters come in for shelter. Wonder where this tug & scow is headed? Garbage dump in lower MI??

Pee-You! I'd hate to have to work on this boat

Bill , could that be a load of Pulp possibly

By Mr. Bill (Mrbill) on Thursday, September 1, 2005 - 04:32 pm:

I hope it's something other than the Canadian garbage that we've been disposing of in lower Michigan. Almost looks like bales of corrugated boxes for recycling.

By Pennie Black (Trolldiva) on Thursday, September 1, 2005 - 05:35 pm:

Can anyone tell me what the gas prices are in the Mackinaw area?

By Mr. Bill (Mrbill) on Thursday, September 1, 2005 - 07:52 pm:

Finally got our telescope working, and it looks like the barge is filled with logs. The "little tugboat that could" is working hard to keep the barge still and steady.

By Therese (Therese) on Thursday, September 1, 2005 - 08:46 pm:

Pennie, I dont know about Mackinaw City, but here in Petoskey about 40 miles to its south gas is $3.40 a gallon -- as of noon today; it's probably gone up some more since I came in to work. Mackinaw will probably be a bit higher.

By Bob Jewell, Farmington Hills (Rjewell) on Thursday, September 1, 2005 - 10:39 pm:

Pennie, Both gasbuddy.com and gaspricewatch.com are showing $3.39 a gallon.
