Mary, hope all is well with you. Charlie you and Mary enrich so many lives everyday. The pictures and prose have become a must do for me each day. I know there are many who share this sentiment by the frequency with which they post there messages. Most of us have never met one another but from the way comments are posted it is like having one big Keweenaw extended family. Will be home the week of Labor Day and a visit to Pasty Central is at the top of the list. Enjoy the day everyone.

Good morning all. Hope Mary's surgery was sucessful and that she has a speedy recovery...no matter how great the hospital,it is always good to get back home. Please keep us posted on her progress.

Spent last night in the big town of Chicago, picking my daughter up from the O'Hare airport. Dang, that city is big to this Michigan country bumpkin. Saw lots of cars with Michigan plates heading north towards Wisconsin...and possibly to the UP?

Mornin' hangin with the best of them. Got my fanny pack on and Lance Armstrong going in to the central line. Quite a hook up--get it, hahaha!

Hello to all,
This is going to be short....just want to thank everyone for their prayers, wishes and thoughts sent my way. They must have worked, because the 1 1/2 hour surgery went off without a hitch. I'm back home with orders to do nothing for 4 days, then gradually increase activity a little at a time. No real pain from the surgery, discomfort, yes, but no pain meds needed as of yet. I was in very good hands with my Ocular Plastic Surgeon, he repaired the blowout of my orbital floor with a metal implant for support along with several screws, then a mesh implant for added support to the eyeball. He said that 3/4 of my floor was blown out....OUCH! It is truly amazing what medical science can do to repair injuries. Thanks again..

Mary,I am so glad to hear that everything went well for you. Hopefully it will heal quickly and you will be as good as new! It truly is amazing what Dr's can do now days.

I agree, Mary: follow the advice. It'll be hard to not do much for 4 whole days, but I know too many people who tried to do too much too early.
