The Lake Superior waters surrounding the Ontonagon Pierhead Light aren't always this calm. It's almost like Z-Man has captured the Big Lake taking a snooze. And who could blame it, since the sun is setting, coloring everything its rays are touching, a subtle red. Quite the peaceful scene, making you want to just pull up a lawn chair and relax along with the lowering light, maybe stifle a yawn or two as you unwind from the week of work. With the evening sky colored so, it promises a good day on the lake in the morning... Red sky in morning, sailor's take warning. Red sky at night, sailor's delight!

John and Anne, There is a lighthouse in Ontonagon. I don't know how to insert a picture here, but I have a picture of it in my guest gallery. Here's the link: https://pasty.com/pcam/albuo85?&page=1
Beautiful picture today. I can never resist a lighthouse photo.

Wow, Cindy... you're lighthouse photos are incredible. I think you have captured most of the Great Lakes' lighthouses in your gallery. Are there any that you haven't taken a photo of yet?

Cindy, great pictures of the lighthouses. Some I've been to and others are yet to be visited.

Thanks Daryl and Charlotte. My hobby has been visiting lighthouses for quite some time now. I've seen most of the land lights in Michigan, but I have more lights to see that are not as easy to access. I've never seen the lights on Isle Royale or Beaver Island, for example, and I would love to do that in the future.

Don't you just love the shades of that orange. Another screen saver for me. Great shot! Good one to put up in November!!!!

Nice picture! Maybe it is just me but the "cppper" tones are perfect for a town that once heralded a successful Copper Mine.

Oops, typo sorry. I meant "copper tones" not 'cppper'. (need to get my eyes checked).

Z-Man, Once again, you have mastered the moment on film. Beautiful. Ok, like I am now really really homesick for da UP now. ;)

Cindy- Great pictures of the lighthouses. I buy one Lighthouse Calendar each year. I think you have the makings of quite a few great ones.

I almost didn't look at Z-Man's light because I noticed it said "sunsets" and I am not particularly fond of sunset pictures. However, this one is GREAT! Wow!
