Allow a little extra time if you'll be crossing the Lift Bridge this morning.

How cool is it this morning? As beautiful as it has been here in Kansas the last couple of days, my guess is that there has been some refreshing mornings up there lately!

Was fortunated enough to spend one summer of my four years at Da Tech in Houghton. Actually enjoyed riding my bike into my early morning job at the cafeteria through this fog. Really woke me up in spite of wet hair and damp clothes.

I remember an early morning crossing over the Big Mac a few years back. It was neat!! Very foggy as we drove onto the bridge and then we were out of the fog and above it,into the sunshine.Well, when you leave lower Michigan and cross over to the UP it is like leaving shadow for sunshine---at least it is to me.

Just a note to let readers know that Fran Giachino passed away on Wednesday. He was a longtime supporter of Calumet (especially hockey) and was wonderful, gentle giant of a guy. Very heart-felt condolences to his wife Sharon, their kids and families. He will be very much missed.
