We are coming up to Copper Harbor camping this next week. Has been about 5 years so we are REALLY looking forward to the trip. Is there a public library anywhere north of Houghton that has computer access for checkng email etc?

You will find free, high speed Internet access on a public terminal right in Copper Harbor at the Welcome Center (Community Building), courtesy of Pasty.NET, Grant Township, and the Copper Harbor Improvement Association. It's right next to the Pines Resort, which also has free in-room Pasty.NET wireless access for their guests. By the way, if you will be camping at the Fanny Hooe Resort in August, you may be able to surf on your wireless enabled laptop right in your tent, courtesy of Pasty.NET, as the resort is making plans to install the service as we speak.

Jmac, Email on vacation? Tsk, tsk, tsk. That is one thing I refuse to do on vacation, is get behind a computer. ;)

Not a whole lot more north of Houghton, but still...we found that the public library of the high school in Lake Linden had access. The hours they are open are limited but are also posted on a sign outside so you know when to go. It was HOT in there, though, so we didn't stay long! Still, nice to know it was available. I think the Calumet high school library has access, too, but we didn't try so you'll have to inquire about that.

Thanks for the accolades, but I cannot take all that credit alone. I prepare the pictures and accompanying notes each day and get them to Charlie. He in turn, is the guy who's up early posting the pictures and notes to the web page.

It is miserably hot and humid here. Heat index of 107 yesterday and I had to be out doing errands. Just going short distances the van couln't even get cool. I am waiting for winter!!!

There is a fire up by Normands farm in Lake Linden. Lots of trucks and D&R equipment went up the road. Hope they can put it out quickly as everything is so dry.
