To Sean, yes the dining room is open, but I think-not for sure- they might not be serving food on Sunday's. Check to see if I'm right. Oh yeah, the food is delicious!!!

Wow! It's hotter in da UP than it is south here in Indiana. Temps were already 85 degrees at 10am this morning...but topped out in the low 90's. Hubby and I sat in the pool for most of the afternoon.
Ya'll take care with the heat up over 100 degrees in da UP...that ain't no fun.

No one has explained the rose at the airport from yesterday. I have friends who have just returned and wanted to know about the rose.

We are also having heat advisories in the Arizona desert. High of 116 today and tomorrow in Phoenix. Tied the record for the highest "low" of 93 overnight and getting more humid as the monsoon season approaches. Forecast highs to get lower (108) by the end of the week. Hottest its ever gotten was 122 in the late 80's. Feels like stepping outside into an oven and car interiors are unbearable. Guess that's the price of living in a desert. Sure hope to go home to the Copper Country some day when I can retire from my job. In the meantime it is great to be able get a taste of home each day through this website. Sure do enjoy the comments of so many wonderful folks.

Close, but not quite.
The highest temperature ever recorded at Phoenix was 122 degrees on June 26, 1990. It was so hot that it brought air carrier air traffic (airlines) to a halt, only because the aircraft performance charts didn't go above 120°F, and extrapolation was not allowed!.

Thanks FRNash for the clarifying info. Although I couldn't remember the exact date of the hottest day, I sure do recall coming home from work that afternoon. So glad you were able to help me out with the details.
