Good Morning All! Another beautiful Copper Country day. 80 degrees and muggy already in Houghton. Air Conditioning comes in real handy.

Good morning. Temps are rising already and will hit the mid 90's this afternoon. Jet ski comes in real handy. :)

Lake Superior sure comes in handy too!!! Nothing quite like a dip in the big lake on a day like today.

Another absolutely gorgeous day here in the Copper Country. The sun is shining, a few high clouds in the sky, warm wind and the temperature at this posting is 92 degrees and still climbing.

Oh Baby is it HOT!!!! Have to go jump in the cold lake to cool off. At least we don't have to worry about hurricane's up here. Can't gripe to much about the heat, because you know whats right around the corner---Winter yuck!!!

By copper country resident on Sunday, July 10, 2005 - 03:52 pm:

95 degrees out in the shade,(Houghton) drink plenty of fluids on a day a like this and watch out for heat stroke. Stay cool.

By st-wisconsin on Sunday, July 10, 2005 - 05:21 pm:

Can anyone tellme how the flies are in all of this heat?

By lmr in hancock on Sunday, July 10, 2005 - 06:41 pm:

We spent the afternoon at McLain's Park with many others. The flies we're bad at all. Of course, a few had to find us but can't have paradise all the time. We sat with our chairs in the water and kept our feet cold. I guess the water was rather "cool" for swimming in the main part of the park. Most swimmers were at the breakwaters which is warmer. Our temp at home was 99.
