Time to get a pool

Past-E-Mail: Cam Notes - 2005: June: June 15-05: Wednesday-What'sUP: Time to get a pool
By
sur5er on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 09:20 am:

Good morning :) Looks like Indiana is finally in for some beautiful cooler weather, starting today....after temps in the high 80's and low 90's for the past two weeks. I think the purchase of one of those large blow up pools, yesterday, brought on the cooler weather. Cuz as soon as my daughter and I put the pool up, the skies clouded up, the temperature dropped by 15 degrees, and the rain started coming down, like no tomorrow.

Why get a pool if we live on Lake Michigan? Phone conversation to hubby:
Me: What's the insurance deductable on my truck?
Hubby: Uh oh...what did you do...and how bad is it?
Me: You know how the road is really narrow on the lake shore?
Hubby: This doesn't sound good...
Me: Well I had the right of way...and I was half way down the lane, and when I looked up, there was another car barreling down from the opposite way...
Hubby: Is it tourist season already?
Me: ..and since I have a truck, it is assumed that I love to go 4 wheeling and will drive half way up the dune to let them through...
Hubby: This doesn't sound good.
Me: Well the trees on the side of the road were in my way...and it was either hit the tourist car head on...or scrape the side of my truck with the trees.
Hubby: How bad is the truck?
Me: Well the scrapes on the car from the trees aren't as bad as the large crack in the windshield...
Hubby: Wait a second...how did you crack the windshield?
Me: When the tourist car sped by me, it kicked up dirt and gravel...
Hubby: Tell me you got a plate number
Me: Hullo! I was in the tree line and half way up a dune! Can I get a pool?
Hubby: Huh? We live on a lake...
Me: Well if we had a pool, then I wouldn't have been driving down to the shore...and you wouldn't be looking at a repair bill on the truck. Think of all the money you would have saved...
Hubby: Nice try...but no pool.

Phone call to hubby's ex wife:
Me: Hey Sis, you still got that large blow up pool, that you were trying to unload on me last summer? I have frozen daiquiris in my freezer.

So, Sis loads the pool up in her truck and hauls it over to my house. Only we find out, as we attempt to blow it up, that it has holes it in. Time to ditch this plan.

Second phone call to hubby:
Me: Can I get a pool?
Hubby: I already told you no!
Me: But it's 100 degrees out
Hubby: No!

I hung up the phone with hubby.
Me: Hey Sis, you wanna go pool shopping with me?

Daughter, ex wife and I went pool shopping...and picked up one of those really nice big blow up pools. So now the question is, how am I gonna get this pool purchase by hubby...because when he comes home from the road, he's gonna notice it sitting in the backyard...right?

Third phone call to hubby:
Me: Hon, we just got back from American Pool....and I got us a great deal on this huge in ground pool.
Hubby: No!
Me: Hey now...it's only $20,000...first year is interest free...I got you a sweet deal. Oh, and the guy with the bulldozer wants to know where you want him to dig the hole.
Hubby: No!
Me: Well, you could have saved yourself some money, if you had allowed me to get one of those inexpensive blowup pools.
Hubby: How much for a blow up pool?
Me: About $100, including daiquiris for me and Sis.

WOW!! Another "book length" post.....

By mrsrock630 on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 01:23 pm:

Nice story, sur5er! I bought mine off ebay and told the hubby a box was coming:) I emptied it in fall, he stored it and now I am chasing a slow leak in the ring. Pack it up carefully in fall. I love mine!

By joesyopper on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 03:28 pm:

Boy, that book length post was interesting! Tricked old hubby again. Let's have some more.

By Yooper on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 06:47 pm:

Sur5er,

I love your ''book length'' posts. book Especially your telephone conversations with your husband. You are so kewl!

Is hubby enjoying the pool yet? :)

By Upset reader on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 07:46 pm:

May I make a suggestion. If we are going to have LENGHTY postings, maybe a E-mail to the other person would be a wiser choice, thank you.

By Ms. Katie, Il. on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 08:09 pm:

To Frank,Milw and Upset reader....don't get your shorts all knotted up! Sur5er, love your "booklength" posts. Hope I meet you some day.

By Beverly, San Jose on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 08:18 pm:

Hey Frank,,,,,,Milw...... You could have by-passed that 'book length' post and jumped in the pool.

Sur5er: Something tells me that that you are always one step ahead of hubby, and he should have thrown his hands in the air and said "I give up" at your first suggestion of a blow up pool.

By joesyopper on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 08:25 pm:

Come on folks. If you think the posting is cute, or not; this is not the place for book length postings. It is going to get out of control.

By Author on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 08:47 pm:

Her posts are hardly book length. Is there any place where it says to limit your post to so many sentences?? Nope! I can't find anything. Until there is a restriction on lengthy posts, I say keep on posting. The longer the better! Peace

2 cents worth. If you dont like the post just scroll down to the next one. Peace brothers and sisters.

By Helen MI on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 09:38 pm:

Isn't that what the WHAT'S UP is for?? Other than on the picture of the day? I don't see a big deal, just scroll down like John from Canton said. Just everyone chill and enjoy this great web site. We are lucky enough to be able to read and view it. I know for one that I am.

By Upset reader on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 10:02 pm:

Maybe the Pasty Cam public dosen't want to know everything that goes on in the life of ones self and spouse. So what is wrong with suggesting some other means of communication???

By not upset on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 10:42 pm:

Calm down upset reader. Just keep scrolling.
Keep em coming Sur5er.

Some people lead such boring lives that they cannot seem to share the excitement others are
having. If you don't have anything more exciting
to do with your life, scroll on to another network.

By sur5er on Thursday, June 16, 2005 - 01:42 am:

Glad I put a smile on most of your faces today.

MrsRock, thanks for the advice on storing the pool, I was planning on storing it in the garage..but will now store it in the basement. Did you find your leak? Try putting soapy water on the pool, and it will begin to bubble where the air is leaking. ;)

Ms Katie, I hope to meet you some day, also. Do you like pools and daiquiris? :)

Freedom of speech sure is an interesting concept.

Hey, San Jose, did you get shaken?

It never cease's to amaze me, what little it takes to shake some people up.As stated above, if you don't like the post scroll past it. Keep up the entertaining stories sur5er. Always love to hear about you and hubby. Hello to bethecute1, How have you been? We are into full apricot season right now and peachs in a few weeks.

By sg/Milford on Thursday, June 16, 2005 - 05:54 am:

I don't like the Posts for one......I'm not sure why she's allowed to rattle on and on. It makes for a bad taste to the site. A little goes a long way. Several have dropped off due to the nonsense. Too bad.

By Bthecute, San Jose on Thursday, June 16, 2005 - 07:35 am:

Hi Kevin of Lodi: Nice to hear from you. How is that new home in the mountains. Are you planning to climb Half Dome this year?

By Beverly, San Jose on Thursday, June 16, 2005 - 07:56 am:

I guess it's too early in the morning, I can't even get my name right. Bthecute1

By guest on Thursday, June 16, 2005 - 07:23 am:

i found the story to be interesting...the ex wife is also sis?keep the stories coming.i don't beleive several people have dropped off due to nonsense if you don't want to read what's up just stay on the cam notes simple as that.love this sight and all the guests-yes we are all guests although some feel they have more rights to the sight then others and start making a stink when the smell does'nt agree with them.oh well...

By mrsrock630 on Thursday, June 16, 2005 - 01:52 pm:

I, myself, loved the post. We get to enjoy others stories that put a smile on your face or tug at your heartstrings. You can always scroll down or go read the archives. Interesting picures and posts there. sur5er, I have an Intex pool where you blow up the ring and then the ring rises when you fill the pool. I found two holes after I did dunk the ring in the pool and the other with the soap trick. Enjoy!

By Cindy--Cent. Heights on Thursday, June 16, 2005 - 04:10 pm:

I love the stories on Pasty. What's wrong with a little fun? I really doubt people dropped off this web!!!

By Be Happy on Thursday, June 16, 2005 - 08:35 pm:

I would love for Sur5er to make a WAV file of her conversations and let everyone listen. Keep them posts coming, Sur5er. :>)

By Tammy,,,,,,,,,,,,MI............... on Thursday, June 16, 2005 - 10:08 pm:

Hey Sur5er,

Any interesting conversations today? ;) BTW, I love
sipping a nice cold drink by the pool! Have a great night.

By Kevin K, Lodi, Ca. on Friday, June 17, 2005 - 12:28 am:

Bthecute1,

Love the home in the mountains, hate to come down into the valley to work. Had Ma and Pa turkey and 14 little ones in the front yard the other night. How are things in San Jose? Hope you are doing well.

By Bthecute1, San Jose on Friday, June 17, 2005 - 04:00 am:

Hi Kevin, be careful, I heard those turkeys can be really mean. Maybe come November, you will have Tom on your table. Apricots keeping you pretty buzy...nice to know that with all the rain we had this spring that all the blossoms didn't fall.

By sur5er on Saturday, June 18, 2005 - 08:40 am:

Guest, nope hubby's ex is not sis. It's a nickname I gave her, cuz hubby swears we are two peas in a pod. ;)
