Selma:
The word Nisu is old Finish word for wheat. The more modern word is Velna. Pulla is the ner more Finish name for Cardamom Coffeebread. Also there are several recepies we found using a Google search.

We're coming up for the 4th. of July timeframe and are so excited to be there for any/all festivites. We will be camping in the Lake Linden campground and wondered if they still have a parade for the 4th. in Lake Linden? Any other fun community events we should be aware of? I know about the pasty thing on the 2nd. but we'll be at a wedding that day - dang! Please, let me know of anything I should put on the calendar! Appreciate it!

Dave & Joann- Lake Linden parade on the 4th of July is usually at 9:30am. It's the first one of the day for the local towns.

I agree with sblazek of Oconomowoc - how do people get up so early on a Saturday?? But maybe it's an Oconomowoc thing! I live there too, and sleeping in on a Saturday is just a great treat!

gmw,
Thanks for the first info on this. 9:30 AM huh? Wow...early! Luckily, we can just walk to this one since we'll be camped so close. LOVE THAT!

Mornin'

By Cindy--Cent.Heights on Saturday, June 4, 2005 - 06:40 pm:

Houghton County has a tornado warning until 10:00 p.m. tonight. Some kind of storm is coming, my dog is really acting scared. Always know when a thunder storm is coming. Dog is the best weather predictor.

By gmw on Saturday, June 4, 2005 - 08:54 pm:

Ditto on the tornado stuff, Cindy. I went to the WeatherMichigan.com website. They said we have a Tornado Watch until 1:00am. It's a good website, lots of info about not only Michigan but the entire United States. Dogs do have a sense of bad weather coming.

By maijaMI on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 07:26 am:

According to the 'weatherbug' on my computer, you are still in a watch for thunderstorms, damaging winds, hail, and possible tornado.

Hope you are all safe.

By Cindy--Cent.Heights on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 11:33 am:

My dog is still acting up. I don't think we'll get anything severe. Thanks, gmw -that,s a good web site. I wouldn't mind a good thunder storm. As long as nobody or nothing gets hurt. Theres something about a storm I like. Maybe it could be the fear of the thunder, I don't know. Hubby don't care. Nascar will be on soon. He can stay in and watch it. Not have to go outside and work.
