The first hours of daylight here in the Upper Peninsula can be enchanting, but add some morning dew and everything you look at takes on a different perspective. Take this spider web with the morning droplets clinging to it, that Misty Bond discovered and preserved for all of us to enjoy. It's amazing how those drips just hang on so precariously, without making the web sag, thus illustrating the strength of the tiny strands forming the web. Then move to the next shot, captured by Roger Kangas and your wonderment increases as you notice the reflection in the suspended droplet. It gives a clear look at the scene, which is slightly blurred in the actual photo. If you have a high-speed connection or just don't mind waiting for the larger file to load, check out the full size shot to get a better view!

With all this talk of drips and drops, we need to keep our fingers crossed that there are no dribbles of rain to dampen the Pasty Fest 2005 activities taking place on July 2nd, in Calumet. Not to worry if the raindrops do fall though, since they really didn't dampen the spirits of anyone who attended last year's event. Only 26 more days to make your plans to savor a delicious U.P. Pasty and enjoy the festivities!

Nature's gems....pearls, diamonds, more fragile, more ethereal, priceless and yet free....what a deal :) Wonderful shots! Thank you.

Love the spider web.

These are very difficult shots to make work for the internet and more so when enlarged 8x10 or greater. The Zman did a marvelous job with his droplet enclosing an image several years ago.

Good Morning, I love today's pictures. The second pic. looks like there's a person in a boat reflecting in the water droplet.

I really like the way these photographers see Art in the ordinary things that in the hustle and bustle of life, we often miss.
