Silver is considered a desirable commodity, whether you're talking jewelry, dollars, rivers or falls! It's the latter that we're talking about today of course. The Silver Falls and the Silver River are both picturesque with the rugged terrain surrounding them. Suzanne Lunn has a few shots of her son and friends on an excursion to enjoy the sights and sounds of the rushing waters located six miles northeast of L'Anse. It must have been on one of our chillier days since they're pretty bundled up, but then again Suzanne says several of the guys were from Georgia and this was their first trip to the U.P. Could be they just weren't acclimated to the cooler climate here compared to their southern home. These two shots illustrate the tamer version of the river compared to the featured pics back on April 26th, which brought us right next to the white-water action.
Speaking of action, be sure to mark your Pasty Cam Calendar for the Pasty Fest 2005 activities taking place on July 2nd, in Calumet. Only 28 more days and you could be one of the first 400 to enjoy a free pasty, if you remember to clip your Daily Mining Gazette coupon!

I remember the 4th in the Keweenaw. FLYIN da MOONEY said it all... What I wouldn't give to be there with my family THIS 4th. (I'd make sure I got one of those Pasties, too!)
