God Bless President Bush. Great Job last night! All he does is care about Americans and this country, and people have the nerve to complain about our leader. Bye the way, if you don't like it here, there is plenty of foreign land to occupy. Every wonder why people risk their lives to enter this country?????????

By julie b., MI on Friday, April 29, 2005 - 11:38 am:

Mark/Florida -

Couldn't agree with you more!

And the Press was true to form - as soon as President Bush said he would protect the poor in Social Security the press comes out with: "the Middle Class are being mugged", even tho the proposal was to leave them at the same level.

Now, who is it that is propagating class warfare?

You are right there is plenty of foreign land to occupy.
Afganistan

Oh, oh, Mary. I see several members of the Bush fan club are
allowed to wax poetic on this site. Is that allowed? If so, could
one suggest that those high gas prices are something he could
be working on? I can't imagine that tourist operators in the U.P.
are too happy with them. If Bush in 2001 had begun working on
conservation measures, perhaps we would not be facing those
oil demand pressures to the extent we are now. And he could
still be working on conservation measures if Cheney will let him.

When Clinton left office gas was $1.00 per gal., the stock market was booming, the economy was booming, we were paying down the national debt, and unemployment was very low. Not debating anything with Mark from Fla., just stating facts!

By just the facts on Friday, April 29, 2005 - 05:27 pm:

I hate to disagree with Mark from Mohawk but in March of 2000, the national average retail price per gal of reg gasoline was $1.52 per gallon, about 53 cents per gallon higher than in 1999. While it bounced up and down several times that year, the price spiral had already started and the economy was already in a decline.

By check your facts on Friday, April 29, 2005 - 06:23 pm:

Didn't you mean 'Dave from Mohawk', not 'Mark' ?

By copper country resident on Friday, April 29, 2005 - 06:36 pm:

DAVE FROM MOHAWK-I like what your said about Clinton days. Things seemed much more controlled
then. Now I don't know if Social Security will be there for me to retire with even though I am paying into it. That's SAD!

By not for the rich on Friday, April 29, 2005 - 09:37 pm:

Hard to imagine how anyone could like George W unless they simply believe his press. Times are bad!

By pastycam reader on Friday, April 29, 2005 - 10:16 pm:

NOT FOR THE RICH-I agree, times are bad, and it's only going to worse, maybe we need a depression again or at least someone who knows how to run this country!

By pastycam reader on Friday, April 29, 2005 - 10:17 pm:

Sorry, nothing personal, just disgusted with the way things are right now.
