Hi all -

I am looking for a vegetarian pasty recipe like they used to serve in the Michigan Tech Union in the 80s when I was there. It had sunflower seeds in it, and a whole wheat crust. Does anyone know of the recipe?

Cynthia, MI:
I enjoyed it as well in the 70's. Would enjoy the recipe also if anyone knows it. Seem to remember there were many contents and many as unusual as the sunflower seeds.

A "vegetarian Pasty"??? It might be a vegetarian something, but certainly not a "PASTY".........

By Local Yokal on Monday, May 9, 2005 - 05:08 pm:

I agree with Frank....Milw: There is no such thing as a veggie pasty. It cannot possibly be called a pasty. It is just not right to call anything but a Real Cornish Pasty.....a Pasty!

Don't forget to order your graduate a
"U.P. Pasty feast" to celebrate the big occasion.

There's a bakery in Houghton, (which shall remain anonymous in deference to our Pasty.com sponsors) that has a wonderful breakfast pasty. I think it's around $4.25, something like that. They sell out every weekend.

I had a breakfast pasty from a bakery in Houghton and it wasn't very good. Could be I was having breakfast at 1pm, but I don't think that was it.
